It Could Be Your Kid

It Could Be Your Kid Bullying & racism are 100% preventable. Stephanie D. ICBYK was born after her own daughter was victimized by bullying behavior.

By producing meaningful, relevant, educational programming for children and the adults who exist in the world with them; ICBYK is committed to developing ideologies that create an equitable experience for all. Pearson-Davis is the founder of It Could Be Your Kid, a registered 501C3 with a mission to end bullying and racism through relevant, engaging, educational programming. In the midst of resolv

ing that harm, Stephanie determined deliberate effort must be given to end the dangerous action of bullying. Race is a risk multiplier for bullying and a major influencer for how people interact. The pervasive nature of racism and its' effects have and are permeating in every facet of human interaction. Both bullying and racism are 100% preventable. It Could Be Your Kid is here to do that work.

At the Affirmation Jar Party, we're gonna party with a purpose to appreciate and affirm as we exist in each moment! Poor self esteem is a risk multiplier for bullying. We can reduce the risk through meaningful, relevant programming just like the event we've planned for your youth on July 6th!

Today marks the beginning of National Bullying Prevention Month!!! ICBYK has spent the last two years working to advance our mission to eradicate bullying and racism while increasing literacy through innovative social emotional learning programming for youth and the adults who serve them. Our work has been relevant and impactful, but it's not done. In order to eradicate bullying behavior we still need your partnership.

We're going to raise awareness this month by wearing blue; the official color for bullying prevention, we're going to provide tips all month long and we're going to raise money to fund programming that builds social emotional intelligence, confidence and empathy in youthπŸ’™

Governor JB Pritzker announced today an Executive Order that supports safe in-person learning and requires that masks be worn indoors by all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status. The CDC strengthened its guidance last week for universal indoor masking in schools, and Illinois will continue to follow the science, data, and public health experts to keep students in school and keep communities safe. We know that consistent and correct mask use is the simplest, most effective way to keep students safely in school, where they can learn and grow to their fullest potential. Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and ISBE will issue updated guidance to reflect this change.

Additionally, all schools in the state of Illinois now have access to free COVID-19 screening testing through IDPH. Learn more from IDPH: http://www.dph.illinois.gov/news/illinois-department-public-health-expands-free-covid-19-testing-all-k-12-public-schools

Do you have concerns about bullying specifically related to masks as we return to in person schooling?

"We need to teach kids that wearing a mask, even if you choose to but don't 'have to,' is OK," one expert tells Yahoo Life.
