Hi everyone. I’m posting anonymously because I’m in an urgent situation and truly don’t know where else to turn.
I’m 20 years old and working full time, but I’m facing an immediate housing crisis. My cousin, who is currently in her senior year of high school, was dropped off to live with me. She had nowhere safe to go, and I couldn’t turn her away. I am now fully responsible for her housing, food, and basic needs.
Despite working 40 hours a week, I am not able to keep up financially. I am currently unable to pay rent and am at risk of losing our housing. I’m doing everything I can, but supporting two people on one income has become impossible, and the stress of potentially losing our home has been overwhelming.
I’m urgently asking for any help—whether that’s food, clothing, essentials, or information about rental assistance, emergency housing programs, churches, nonprofits, or resources that help in situations like this. Even phone numbers, program names, or advice would be deeply appreciated.
I’m not asking for judgment—just help. I’m trying to keep a stable home so my cousin can finish her senior year safely and without more disruption. Any guidance, resources, or support right now could make a life-changing difference.
