Cowtown Friends of Fort Worth Animal Care and Control To better address these needs, Cowtown Friends of FWACC was formed.

Cowtown Friends of FWACC is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to enriching and enhancing the lives of animals in the care of Fort Worth Animal Care & Control. In 2020, a committed group of Fort Worth Animal Care & Control (FWACC) volunteers recognized that there were certain needs above and beyond what the City of Fort Worth could fund. Cowtown Friends of FWACC is a non-profit organization run by a volunteer board that is dedicated to enriching and enhancing the lives of animals in the care of FWACC. Thousands of dogs and cats are helped every year and this support is made possible through generous donors and committed volunteers. By raising these critical funds, Cowtown Friends of FWACC contributes to the health and wellbeing of Fort Worth’s homeless animals by funding life changing programs and services. We invite volunteers and the local community to be part of the effort, and if you are already a supporter, thank you for putting the animals first.

UPDATE: ADOPTED 💙

Meet Casper, one of the happiest boys despite everything he’s been through. Casper is 2.5 years old, 56 lbs, and currently living in a foster home while he waits for his forever family.

Casper was originally adopted from FWACC in 2025, but about a year later was removed from his home due to abuse. He returned to the shelter with scars on his face and back leg. Despite his past, Casper still loves and trusts people. His foster says he is potty trained, great on a leash, loves playing with his toys, and especially loves a good game of fetch.

Casper (A0058653557) is a 2.5-year-old, 56 lb, neutered male who was surrendered on June 20. He is currently in a foster home and available for adoption through Fort Worth Animal Care & Control🐾 . If you’re interested in giving Casper the home he deserves, please EMAIL [email protected].

Linda has been waiting at Fort Worth Animal Care & Control since June 18, making her one of the shelter’s longest residents. She finally has a chance to leave Texas on their 11/7 transport — she just needs a foster or co-fosters to get her there!

Linda is 1.5 years old, 60 lbs., spayed, dog friendly, and participates in playgroup. She’s playful, easy to leash and handle, treat motivated, and loves the water 💗

Foster needed through 11/5.
She is at the Silcox location: 4900 Martin St. 76119

🦈💙 BABY SHARK NEEDS A HOME! 💙🦈

Baby Shark (61096658) is just 9 months old, 35 lbs, and a handsome blue pittie who is now LAST CALL and past his deadline due to shelter capacity.

A volunteer who recently took Baby Shark on his second Doggy Day Out had this to say about him:
“I took Baby Shark on another Doggy Day Out, and he is a perfect angel! He’s such a great dog.”

Baby Shark is dog friendly and enjoys getting out into the play yards, where he can stretch his legs and enjoy some time outside. He is also heartworm negative.

This sweet young boy clearly has so much love to give, and he desperately needs someone to step up for him. A foster or adopter could make all the difference for Baby Shark right now.

To adopt or foster Baby Shark, please email [email protected].

Please share! Let’s help this perfect boy find a safe, loving home. 🦈💙

URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR PAWLETTE 💗🙏🏼

A shelter foster is urgently needing someone to take over fostering their sweet girl Pawlette (Miss Polly) (A0061352882). One of their personal dogs was re-injured and they are having a hard time keeping her calm since she loves to play with Miss Polly.

They pulled Pawlette from pre-euth a little over 2 months ago simply because she was incredibly fearful. They said: “She has NEVER been aggressive — and since leaving the shelter, she has absolutely THRIVED 🤍

Pawlette is potty trained, dog friendly, great with kids, crate trained, good in the car, and incredibly sweet and affectionate once she trusts you. She’s still timid with new people, but treats, patience, and another confident dog go a long way!

In just two months, she has gone from trembling and barely wanting to look at us to the sweetest, gentlest soul. She has made SO much progress, and we desperately want to keep that going.”

If you can add Pawlette to your pack and help her get adopted, please let us know or EMAIL [email protected]! Her fosters are happy to meet halfway or bring her to you and help her get acclimated.

She is 4 years old, 63 lbs, spayed female, and heartworm negative. She is currently under care with Fort Worth Animal Care & Control🐾 .

Mila has spent far too much of her young life in the shelter system. She first arrived as a stray in November 2025 and, through no fault of her own, has bounced between the shelter, foster care, and an adoption home. Now, after nearly three months back at the shelter, Mila is urgent as space runs out.

But Mila is SO much more than her story. She’s a volunteer favorite, potty trained, smart, affectionate, and has done great with other dogs with proper introductions. Her previous adopters loved her dearly but sadly returned her because they could no longer afford her basic needs. Mila has been given glimpses of what having a family feels like. She deserves one that lasts.

Mila (A0059777856) is 1.5 years old, 60 lbs, spayed, and heartworm negative. She is at Fort Worth Animal Care & Control’s Silcox location, 4900 Martin Street.

To adopt or foster Mila, email [email protected]

We are still trying to wrap our heads around what you all made possible. This was our BEST North Texas Giving Day yet with just over $35,000 raised to support Fort Worth Animal Care & Control!

A HUGE thank you to our incredibly generous matching donors who helped make this possible. Your generosity inspired others to give, doubled the impact of donations, and helped us go farther than we ever have before. You helped create excitement and momentum throughout Giving Day, and helped turn every donation into an even bigger investment in shelter animals. Your willingness to step up with such incredible matching gifts challenged our community to rise to the occasion, and they absolutely did. Every time we announced a new match, you helped inspire another wave of support. You helped make generosity contagious.

Because of YOU, we can continue providing the things shelter pets need most: enrichment, comfort, foster supplies, lifesaving equipment, and so much more!

From all of us at Cowtown Friends of Fort Worth Animal Care & Control and, most importantly, the animals you helped support...

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
We are so lucky to have this community behind us 💜🐾

🎉 WE DID IT — and then some! 🎉

We are absolutely blown away to share that we raised $30,013 for North Texas Giving Day — our biggest North Texas Giving Day total yet!

And there’s even more exciting news: the Double R Family Foundation has generously agreed to honor our unmet match, bringing our total raised to an incredible $35,520!

That’s more than double our goal and double what we raised last year! We are so incredibly grateful. Because of YOUR generosity, we can now get to work making a real difference for the animals in Fort Worth Animal Care & Control shelters and foster homes. Here’s what we’ll immediately be putting these funds toward:

🐱 Four larger neonatal kitten incubators for the shelter
🐱 Smaller incubators for foster families caring for vulnerable kittens
🐾 Replacement raised beds for both the Henry Animal Campus and Silcox locations
📦 Working with shelter staff to create an updated monthly order list for enrichment items and the foster supply closet

Every one of these purchases will help provide better care, comfort, enrichment, and lifesaving support for animals who need it most.

All of this happened because of YOU. We are so lucky to have such an incredibly generous and supportive community standing behind the animals and the people who care for them.

A HUGE thank you to every donor, including our generous matching donors, for believing in this work and helping us reach this incredible milestone.

And thank you to our shelter volunteers, staff, and foster families. Your dedication, hard work, and love for the animals helped make this our best North Texas Giving Day yet!

From all of us — thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! We couldn’t do this without you. ❤️
