Cowtown Friends of Fort Worth Animal Care and Control

To better address these needs, Cowtown Friends of FWACC was formed.

Cowtown Friends of FWACC is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to enriching and enhancing the lives of animals in the care of Fort Worth Animal Care & Control. In 2020, a committed group of Fort Worth Animal Care & Control (FWACC) volunteers recognized that there were certain needs above and beyond what the City of Fort Worth could fund. Cowtown Friends of FWACC is a non-profit organization

run by a volunteer board that is dedicated to enriching and enhancing the lives of animals in the care of FWACC. Thousands of dogs and cats are helped every year and this support is made possible through generous donors and committed volunteers. By raising these critical funds, Cowtown Friends of FWACC contributes to the health and wellbeing of Fort Worth’s homeless animals by funding life changing programs and services. We invite volunteers and the local community to be part of the effort, and if you are already a supporter, thank you for putting the animals first.

North Texas Giving Day is almost here, and we’re setting an ambitious goal of $15,000 to provide life-saving support to Fort Worth Animal Care & Control .

This past weekend’s Mega Adoption Event with Fort Worth Animal Care & Control was one for the books! 🧡 45 dogs found their forever homes and 4 more went into foster care. Cowtown Friends was honored to help make the event special by purchasing the circus-themed decor and providing lunch for staff both days.

We love supporting adoption events! Last month, we also purchased decor and pizza for volunteers and staff for National Adoption Weekend.

Every donation to Cowtown Friends goes directly toward moments like these! None of it happens without your support.

Life-saving foster needed for 7 newborn puppies at Fort Worth Animal Care & Control! They sadly won’t make it if they stay at the shelter as they need 24 hour care.

Seven tiny Terrier mix puppies are looking for a foster home where they can receive the care they need to thrive.

These puppies are only 3 days old, which means they are still unweaned and will need bottle feeding, warmth, and close monitoring. Caring for neonatal puppies can be a rewarding experience, and our team will provide guidance and support along the way.

Puppy Details:
• 7 Terrier mix puppies
• 3 days old
• Small breed
• Average weight: 0.94 lbs.
• Shelter provides supplies

Meet Ellie 🖤🤍

A wonderful volunteer had the honor of hosting sweet Ellie for a sleepover over a few days this week to give her a much deserved break from shelter life.

She is dog friendly. She is submissive with play style and very friendly toward anyone and everyone. Loves play tug of war and was catching on to fetch in our time with us, slowly learning to retrieve. She loves playing with toys on her own as well, and enjoys relaxing close to you with a chew bones/toy.

Knows her name and often tilts her head when you say it. She also knows sit, this girl is extremely smart and eager to learn!! Was catching on to “off” and “stay” in our time together. She just wants to please. Ellie is crate trained, whining only briefly and then quickly settling for the entire night, sleeping soundly without stirring.

If anyone is looking for their next foster or forever dog, she would be such an amazing one. ❤️ Someone scoop her up!

Ellie (A0060981052) is 2 years old, 46 lbs, spayed female, found stray on May 13th, and available for adoption, foster, or rescue.

Luka had a doggy day out and much needed break from the shelter thanks to an amazing volunteer!!

This sweet boy is URGENT due to capacity for being at the shelter for 93 days 💔 He needs a hero to save him!

They said: He loves water and had lots of fun splashing around in the pool shallows and was thrilled when the sprinklers came on. 🤗 he dries very quickly due to his short hair. Running around the yard, doing perimeter checks, and eating treats were all on the agenda for the day. He didn’t react when he saw my cat in the window. 🐈‍⬛ He hopped in and out of the truck, like a champ! He’s a sweet boy and would love to find his forever home.

Luka (A0060899754) is 8 years old, 59 lbs, neutered male, owner surrendered for moving on April 30th, and available for adoption, foster, or rescue.

Meet Magnus! 💙
If you are looking to add a family member that checks all the boxes, this is your boy! (Yes, that’s him belly up playing with 3 other dogs 🥰)

Magnus is an easygoing, sweet, and fully house- and crate-trained dog who’s quiet, respectful, and calm indoors, making him a great fit for families with kids. He already knows sit, come, down, off, and shake, walks well on leash, and loves curling up beside his people on the couch. He gets along great with other dogs of all ages, showing a soft, playful style with zero resource guarding, fears, or aggression. Magnus is calm in the car, easy to bathe, and doggy-door trained. He adores long walks and sniffing outdoors just as much as relaxing at home afterward. With his gentle, adaptable personality, he’d make a wonderful match for first-time owners, families with children, or anyone looking for a loyal best friend.
