One of the amazing Charities that we have been blessed by! 🥰🥰

If you are looking for a way to bring joy to children experiencing Can cer, here is a great way!!!

We are filled! Please message Rhonda on how you can still help honor your loved one.

It’s time to fill up the 2026 calendar. You are signing up for bags that go to a child fighting Childhood Cancer at the hospital, Ronald McDonald House, or their home because they are homebound. The cost for one week is $100. If you sign up you need to pay for the bags TWO WEEKS in advance. This insures wecan buy in bulk to get the best price for your money. When you pay we appreciate you getting us a Picture that you wan on social media, and what you want the label to say. The following dates are available. If you put a date down you will be told in the reply if it is yours. If you don’t get a date Rhonda will message you. She is doing something a little extra this year so you may want to participate.
Thank you again for always supporting these amazing families, and the Orange Out Foundation.

Today was Lumbar Puncture Day! We only have these every three months now. She also gets a dose of chem0 and antibiotics.

Her numbers look amazing at 2400 which is a huge relief going into Christmas. As always, she’s a trooper and is only annoyed when she has to lay down for a bit or is denied snacks for too long. Lol!

She’ll be on steroids for the next 5 days and that turns her into a bit of a hangry monster. Thank goodness its a food holiday and she will have plenty to chose from!

It’ll be another month before we come back for her next check in and treatment.

It’s Twirly Day!

One year ago today LuLu did a twirl at Dairy Queen that started us on this leukemia journey.

I’m so grateful that a simple twirl gave her so much trouble and pointed to Leukemia when we had no other signs! She had over 70% of the B cells in her bone marrow affected but only 3% of the B Cells in her blood! That early diagnosis was a HUGE blessing so I will forever be grateful for twirls!

Hence November 10th is forever Twirly Day!

LuLu is SUPER excited to have a birthday party this year! I have created a Facebook event and if you want to go and i missed you on the invite list (my adhd kicks in), comment or message me and I’ll send you an invite. (Her dad will probably throw his own party for her on a different weekend.)

It is “tea party” themed, but i promise it wont be unfun for the boys.

Presents are NOT necessary, & your presence is gift enough.

The party will be from 2-4pm this Saturday the 15th at paluxy heritage park in Glen Rose.

We hope to see you there! ❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩

Friday was our check in at Cooks to see if LuLus numbers had recovered after a week of no chem0.

It was a resounding “no”. The goal for the maintenance phase, which we will be in until she rings the bell (tentatively Jan 2027), is for her ANC to stay between 750 and 1500. Last week her ANC was 330, so we did a break from chem0 for a week. Friday, her first ANC was 15. Just 15 😬. They retested it and it was still only 32. 🫣all of her other numbers were at normal levels and you would never guess by her presence that her ANC was so low.

What’s that mean? Basically her immune response is lagging big time. It could mean she’s fighting an infection already or it could mean she just can’t fight anything bacterial, fungal, or viral off if her system encounters it. Since it’s been two days and shes not developed any illness, im assuming it’s the latter.

The current plan is to keep her safe at home primarily, no chem0 for another week, additional anti-biotics, and an anti-viral. These are all preventative at this point since she is still running around like a wild child. ❤️

Next Friday we will go in again and hopefully her numbers will approve. Her onc0logist went through her genetic markers that i had done at the beginning of this and it shows her body metabolizes this chem0 well and shouldn’t have these reactions. Our main guess is that she just has a sensitive system and it needs a break from the chem0 every couple of months. (That’s the pattern we are seeing so far)

You can see some of the spots that appear when her immune system crashes. Not sure why, but it’s been an easy way to tell how it’s going.

Shes in a great mood! (If you cant tell from photos! ) ❤️ it just goes to show that her mood doesn’t always show her numbers.

ANC is 322 today. Minimum for continuing chem0 is 750, so we will take a week off and be secluded with all the viruses going around. We will be back next Friday to try again.

322 means her immune system isn’t responding well at all so we will be doing masks and hand sanitizer if we go out and wont be doing her daily/weekly chem0 this week.

We will come back next Friday and see how her numbers look before continuing.

If she does catch something, it could delay chem0 another week and she will most likely get hospitalized if she gets an uncontrolled fever and/or her numbers are unmanageable in the ER . Definitely something we want to avoid!

(We have to go to the Cook’s ER if she gets a fever of 100+, she has a cough, or if she is acting sick)

Also look at how much hair this girl is getting in!! 😍😍 I think it’s going to be very similar to how it was before! Curly, and brown at the roots and then blonde. There’s a pic of it from last October for comparison. 👱‍♀️

I have had a few people ask about the Facebook Event that is a car show in Fort Worth this weekend that says it benefits the cancer treatments of LuLu Maxedon, my daughter.

I want to share a few facts so that, if you choose to participate in that fundraiser, you are an informed donor.

This benefit is not for me, Kendall Maxedon, the primary custodian of Elizabeth & Eliana Maxedon.

We were approved for Medicaid and it has covered every single medical bill associated with her diagnosis except for approx ($20 total) for extra prescriptions. I have the bills they paid and the amount covered totaled over $1.3million as of June. There is no way I could have covered these bills and I am so grateful this program existed for our use. I have never used these social services so I did so with a huge slice of humble pie and gratitude.

Because of her condition I have been a full time caregiver for her. Any funds donated to her cause were put towards our basic bills, food and gas, as well as her supplements (which ranged from $200-$400/month that I pay for). My family, friends, community and my God have been so incredibly gracious and they have helped us get through the past 11 months. There were many months that I had no idea how a bill would be paid, and then I’d receive just enough to cover it.

This past year has taught me ultimate dependence on God and I am amazed at the kindness we have experienced.

If I can figure out a way to turn off comments, I probably will. It is highly unlikely I’ll respond to any. I’m not out to do anything more than clarify our situation and present facts for any fundraisers in my daughter’s name.

Thank you so much to our community, family, & friends for the many amazing ways that you have contributed to our survival and well being over the past year. I hope this shows how absolutely sincere I am when I say that we couldn’t have made it without you. I am so very blessed to have each of you!

Edit: It was my brother Miles & my SIL Natalie! He says he knocked, and to be honest my kids had started their “we want breakfast” chant, so theres a VERY good chance i didnt hear him!😂😂😂 Either way we feel very blessed! 😊

I’m not sure who it was, but I can’t tell you how appreciative we are for the breakfast left on our front porch. We always do late breakfasts on Saturday and I went to take trash out before cooking and saw the pan filled with eggs & bacon & ham and homemade tortillas! You made 3 ladies very happy and made us feel very loved!

(I may or may not have cried into my breakfast taco.) 😭😂
