A question I saw this morning brought up some thoughts. If a man doesn’t respect the patch on his back, why is he even wearing it? There are a great many these days that, as I like to put, are wearing a costume. Men put in hours, blood and sweat to earn their patches. When they do finally earn them, they’re proud of them. Over time, a lot of them start to lose their love for their colors. Yet they stay. That’s when it becomes a costume. That’s the point they need to lay their colors down or learn to love their colors once more. It’s a choice that needs to be made before it’s made for you. This life isn’t for everyone. However, if you choose this life, make it your own. If there’s issues in your life that are pulling you away, you have Brothers to go to that will help you fix them or lend an ear. You chose your club family and worked hard to get where you are. Don’t let it go because of stubbornness or just getting bored. Build your family and make it stronger. Make it something you’re once again proud of. When I’m old and grey, I’ll still proclaim love for my Brothers and my colors.
