We're so excited for Disney Week next week on the HO floor at Cook Children's Hospital!!!

You'll find some extra special "friends" around the inpatient floor too if they are lucky enough to make it in one piece. 🤭

Meet Makayla!

I first met Makayla when Lily was undergoing radiation treatments a little over a year ago. She was also receiving radiation treatment for an aggressive tumor in her spine.

Makayla has faced many challenges, but her strong faith in God brings her peace through the chaos and uncertainty. It's inspiring to see how her unwavering belief helps her navigate this life, reminding us all of the power of faith in overcoming obstacles.

Lily's Craft Corner is so happy to know that our Busy Bags made her recent hospital visit a little brighter! And a big thank you to her Mama Melissa Bow Runyon for the amazing pictures and encouragement. 🥰

🎉 Exciting news from Lily's Craft Corner! Today we made our very first drop-off, and it was amazing! We delivered tons of craft bags for kids and a bunch of comfy clothes for anyone who needs them. 🛍️👕

🩷 We feel so blessed to have reached this milestone with Lily. Many of you know how tough things were for a while, but our little warrior pulled through and is now giving back in big ways!

🫶🏻 A huge shoutout to everyone who helped us get here! Whether you donated, volunteered your time, shared our posts, or just listened when I needed to vent, we couldn't have done it without you.

We are collecting donations for 4th of July celebrations on the HO floor of Cook Children's Hospital. Please see below how you can help!

In late 2022, my sweet daughter Lily spent 6 weeks in Cook Children's ICU, part of which was during Halloween.

Now, Halloween is her FAVORITE holiday, and she loves all things spooky, so of course I asked child life for some Halloween themed crafts or decorations! To our surprise, the child life department told me they had received no donations for Halloween that year. I was so shocked because we have always been able to find things for our girl to do in the hospital without much trouble.

Since i was unable to leave, we asked our friends and supporters for crafts, and they delivered big time!

Since then, I've determined that no kid should ever be stuck in the hospital and miss out on festivities and celebrations because of a lack of donations.

If anyone is out and sees something they think YOUR kid would enjoy crafting or playing with in celebration of the 4th of July or Summer in general and you can and would like to, please pick it up and I will gladly come grab it from you if you are local and deliver it to the child life department at Cook Children's. You can also purchase from the wishlist attached if that's most convenient for you.

The kids love doing holiday crafts!!

4th of July craft supplies will be delivered 1 week in advance. 🇺🇸🦅🎆

Lily is absolutely thrilled to share some much-needed clothing items for the kids on the Hematology/Oncology floor at Cook Children's Hospital, as well as for their amazing caregivers. These families are going through so much, and even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in their lives.

First and foremost, let me be very clear that I appreciate EVERYTHING our hospital has done and continues to do for us! But they cannot do it all, and that's where we come in.

Lilys Craft Corner's mission is to fill the gaps we experienced while Lily went through treatment. One such gap was the lack of crafts and gifts available to the kids to give to their mothers and female caregivers.

We want to step into that gap and provide the opportunity for kids to pick a gift and/or craft to gift their mom and female caregivers for Mother's day! And the like for Father's day, Christmas, etc.

I haven't made it through the onboarding process to complete this vision yet, but my hope is that by next year, Lily's Craft Corner will be *on site* with enough supplies and gifts so that no kid is left feeling a pain of guilt that they weren't able to show their parents appreciation because they are sick. (We know they are not to blame, but I know there are kids who feel guilty nonetheless)
