Today, we remember.

Twenty-five years later, the events of September 11, 2001 remain etched in our hearts and in our history. We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away.

We remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders, military members, flight crews, and ordinary citizens who showed extraordinary courage.

And we remember what followed: neighbors helping neighbors, strangers reaching out to strangers, and communities coming together with compassion, courage, and a renewed commitment to serve.

As Rotarians, we believe that Service Above Self is more than a motto. It is a call to care for one another, stand together in difficult times, and leave our communities stronger than we found them.

Today, we pause to remember those we lost, honor those who served, and reflect on the enduring power of kindness, unity, and service.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

❤️ Lessons on Living ❤️

We were honored to welcome Martin Thompson of Thompson Funeral Homes & Crematory to Fort Worth South Rotary this week.

After more than 50 years in funeral service, Martin shared powerful lessons he’s learned from walking alongside families through some of life’s most difficult moments. His stories of love, loss, faith, humor, and resilience offered a meaningful reminder that some of life’s greatest lessons—and greatest stories—are found when people simply show up for one another.

Martin also shared his journey as an author and the inspiration behind his books. We’re grateful for his time, wisdom, and perspective!

Thank you, Martin, for reminding us to live with purpose, cherish our relationships, and be there when our community needs us most. 💙💛

💧 Clean Water. Stronger Communities. Brighter Futures. 🇰🇪

What a great program we had this week at Fort Worth South Rotary! We were honored to hear from Will Carlton about an incredible Rotary Global Grant project bringing clean, safe water to communities and schools in Kenya.

The Kenya Clean Water Project (Global Grant G-3675) is working to bring sustainable clean-water infrastructure to more than 18,300 people. The project includes a pipeline system serving communities in the Maai Mahiu region, water kiosks for schools, and a new Reverse Osmosis + UV purification system serving more than 6,300 students and staff at Ndurarua Primary & Junior Secondary School in Nairobi.

This is exactly what Service Above Self looks like—Rotarians from the U.S. and Kenya working alongside local communities to create sustainable, life-changing impact. 💙

And the impact of your gift can multiply through Rotary’s Global Grant program. Every donation helps demonstrate community support and move this project closer to reality.
