Central Bible Church’s Annual Fall Classic Golf Tournament is coming up on October 19, and Central Storehouse is grateful to be the beneficiary of this year’s tournament.

Join us for a fun day on the course, with 18 holes, breakfast, lunch, raffle prizes, a longest-drive contest, and even a heckle hole! But the best part? Your round of golf helps Central Storehouse put healthy food on our neighbors’ tables and continue walking alongside families in our community.

Whether you’re playing with friends, bringing your coworkers, or putting together a team for a little friendly competition, let’s tee it up and come together for a day that gives back!

Some days just stay with you, and our Back-to-School event in partnership with Why Not You?! is one of them! 🎒

On August 1st, more than 1,000 people came together at Central Storehouse for a day full of energy, connection, and community as we celebrated our students and helped families get ready for the school year. From 500 backpacks filled with school supplies to food, job opportunities, community resources, and family support, so much happened, and so many people showed up to make it possible.

The day was especially memorable because families, kids, volunteers, and community partners came together for a fun, welcoming day that felt like a true celebration of our community.

We’re still so grateful for everyone who helped make that day possible. This is what Loving Neighbors looks like!

Another amazing addition! Would you take a moment to welcome our newest addition to the Storehouse Advisory Board?

Annabel Luna-Smith is a Community Engagement Strategist at UNT Health Fort Worth. She has been there for 7 years coordinating various community engagement efforts. Her 15-year tenure in community engagement has allowed Annabel to use her experience and passion to impact our community. She is focused on building strategic partnerships, strengthening linkages, and developing programs that make a difference in the communities served.
Annabel was born and raised in Venezuela. She attended Mount Mercy University in Iowa as an international student where she earned her undergrad in Communications-Public Relations. She has a Master of Science in Lifestyle Health Sciences from UNT Health. She is a certified Community Health Worker and certified CHW Instructor. Under UNT Health’s Community Health Worker Training Center, she holds the title of Adjunct Instructor and teaches the CHW certification course.

When not at the UNT Health, Annabel can be found around our community networking with colleagues, serving various committees or volunteering in community events. She constantly seeks opportunities to be involved in meaningful community efforts.

Would you please welcome Dr. Jennifer Strand, our newest amazing addition to the Central Storehouse Executive Board of Directors!

Dr. Jennifer Strand has spent her career spanning 25 years working with North Texas nonprofits, most recently joining United Way Tarrant County as Vice President for Research and Innovation to oversee community-wide efforts in research, evaluative and innovation, including community-based research, program evaluation, organizational consulting and thought leadership. Before joining United Way, Jennifer served as the Head of Research and Analytics at Catholic Charities Fort Worth, building a research and evaluation team that worked to design and refine client services based on how programs truly impacted clients and where gaps still existed.

Jennifer received her doctorate from UTA in experimental psychology with an emphasis in health and neuroscience psychology. Academically, her main focus was on how trauma – both chronic (like poverty) and acute – affects the brain and behavior. She has never believed in research just for the sake of learning; data should always tell a story that leads to real change in people’s lives.

We are incredibly blessed to welcome Jennifer to the Executive Board and as you can see, her heart for life change is perfectly aligned with our mission.

Our first ever North Texas Giving Day went so well! Hats off to our Development Director Grace Lewis for all of the hard work she has put into this day over the past few months! 73 generous donors with one match led us to raise $65,100 for Central Storehouse! What an incredible impact that will make in our community! We cannot wait to see what the Lord will do next! !

What an incredible day! Not only was it North Texas Giving Day, but we had recruits for the Fort Worth PD on site today, giving their sweat and hearts to the community they commit their lives to serve and protect. These men and women are awesome! They now have Central Storehouse as a resource partner and they will be sending people our way who need help. Their job has grown to be even more about helping those in need. These are the next generation of police in Fort Worth and we are highly encouraged.
