Update from Purradise Springs 🐾

Heavy hearts here. 😿😿Palmer passed away quietly about two hours after returning home from the vet this weekend. He came to us three years ago as a feral colony relocation, and we’re grateful for the time we had with him. Rest easy, Palmer. 💔

On a hopeful note — Remi’s kidney values are back to normal. His protein levels are still low from the diarrhea, so the ER is adding a steroid alongside his antibiotics, and he’ll transfer back to our regular vet tomorrow. IBD/IBS is suspected. We really need him to start eating, so fingers crossed the steroid gives his appetite a boost too. 🤞🤞🤞🤞

We’re still short on covering this weekend’s bills, Remi’s ongoing care, and tomorrow’s appointments — Baby Bear’s PCR testing and a new arrival’s neuter and vaccines. If you’re able to chip in, it goes straight toward keeping this crew alive and cared for. If you can’t, a share helps just as much. 🙏

🚨 EMERGENCY WEEKEND at Purradise Springs 🚨

Purradise Springs is having one of those weekends. Remi — who came to us about two months ago as an owner surrender — started vomiting bile, running a low temp, wobbly on his feet. Turns out his kidneys are in crisis. He’s at the overnight ER now getting stabilized, and he’ll be there through the weekend.🙀😿

At the same time, Palmer — a feral colony relocation who’s called Purradise home for three years — is severely dehydrated. After two nights at the vet he’s home and I’m playing sub-Q fluid nurse around the clock trying to coax him into eating.🤞🤞🤞

And because sanctuary life never met a quiet moment it liked: Monday brings Baby Bear in for PCR testing, plus a brand-new arrival who needs his neuter and vaccines before he can settle in with the crew.

Between the ER bills for Remi and Palmer and Monday’s appointments, we’re looking at roughly $2,500–$3,500 — and that’s before we even get back to the dental list that’s still waiting patiently in line.

If you can chip in, every dollar goes straight to keeping these guys alive and comfortable. If you can’t, a share works wonders too. Love wins, but love also needs a vet card that isn’t declined. 🙏

Because of your donations Clem is in surgery TODAY and Chris is covered for Tuesday. That’s two cats who were losing weight and in pain getting the help they needed because of YOU.

‼️‼️Warning… surgery tomorrow will likely be cancelled due to lack of funds… 😿😿😿‼️‼️

I’m going to be completely honest because I don’t know what else to do. 🐾

We borrowed $600 from Thom’s disability check — money we didn’t have — to cover the last three surgeries. We can’t borrow anymore. There’s almost nothing left and we still have our own bills and food to buy.

Clem has a dental tomorrow. Martini needs a $450 surgery. Chris, Siggy and Brett are all scheduled and all losing weight because their mouths hurt too much to eat.

We cannot cancel on them. But we are out of options tonight.

We need $3,000 to get through the next two weeks. That’s the honest number.

CareBear is at the vet right now. 🐾

He was so miserable we couldn’t make him wait another day. That’s just who we are — we see them suffering and we can’t look away.

We’re still catching up from Cookie’s toe surgery, Holly’s dental, and more procedures coming this week and next. We have less than $300 in bookings this month and three weeks still to go.

But Cookie got a clean pathology report — just a cyst, not a tumor 🎉 — and Holly is back eating with her buddies. The surgeries are working. These cats are getting better.

We just need help paying for it.

Holly is at the vet right now and she needs your help today. 🐾

Holly came to us as part of a group of cats rescued from desperate conditions. She has an atrophied eye from everything she survived before she found us. She is one of the sweetest souls at Purradise Springs and today she couldn’t wait any longer — her mouth was in too much pain.

We’re still catching up from Cookie’s emergency toe surgery last week — $800 after Dr. Genna discovered what looks like a tumor. We’re still waiting on those pathology results.

And we have three more dentals scheduled next week.

These cats have already survived so much. They deserve to not be in pain.

Cookie update. 😻

She lost the toe. Dr. Genna found what looks like a tumor and sent it to pathology. We’re waiting on results.🙏🤞🙏🤞

Cookie is a tough girl. She’ll adapt. But today was harder and more expensive than we expected — $800, which is more than double what we anticipated.

Holly still has her dental Friday. Four more procedures follow through August.

Sweets update first — she made it through her dental beautifully. 🧡

Almost all of her teeth needed to come out. She had infection hiding in her back molars that she’d been quietly living with, never complaining once. She’s already more comfortable and we are so relieved.

That’s why these procedures matter so much. These cats never tell us they’re hurting. We just have to make sure they get the care they deserve.

Right now Cookie is on the table for her toe surgery. Our girl with the infected toe that wouldn’t quit is finally getting the help she needs.

Holly has her dental Friday. More procedures are coming next week.

We are in the middle of a serious medical stretch and every dollar helps us get through it. If Sweets’ story moves you — please give what you can today.
