Summer fun!

We’ve had a busy summer and are excited for the Indiana State Fair dog show next weekend (August 22-23)! This summer our members have worked the food booth at the fair, earned their AKC Canine Good Citizen titles, learned about disc dog sports from the Summit City Disc Dog group, made snuffle mats and tug toys for their dogs and excelled at AKC rally trials. If you know of a child entering 3rd-12th grade this year and they would like to participate in the 4-H dog project in 2027 please reach out!

Our members have been staying busy since the county show just a few short weeks ago! The weekend after our county show we traveled to Fulton County for a fun match where members were able to meet and compete with other 4-H handlers in obedience, agility, showmanship and rally from at least 6 different counties! It was more great practice for our members as they prepare for the state fair!

Last night our club was well represented at our demonstration at the Allen County fair! Thank you to those who came out to see the hard work members have put into their dog training this year. We loved meeting so many new families and prospective members! If you’re interested in joining us for the 2026-2027 4-H year please reach out!

🐾Today we wrapped up the 2026 Allen County 4-H Dog Show! Congrats to our members on a job well done! This marks the midpoint of our training for the year as we continue to prepare for the state fair dog show in August. 🐾

Our Allen County 4-H Dog Show is coming up this week at the Allen County Fairgrounds! The shows will be held at the Home Loan & Bank building. Friday evening at 6:30pm we'll be having our agility show and Saturday morning we'll have showmanship and obedience starting at 9am. Our agility judge, Kallie Bontrager, will also be providing a demonstration Friday evening of the work she and her dogs do with the DNR tracking down the invasive spotted lantern fly species. https://youtu.be/1ZeZmYG5yMo. Congratulations to our members Neil, Madison, and Myles for amazing performances at the FWOTC obedience and rally trials this past weekend! We’re so glad our member Alayna and her family were able to come out to watch their first obedience trial too. We love to see the passion our members have for dog sports and the strong bonds they’ve formed with their dogs!
