🗳️ The Fort Wayne Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was proud to partner with the Fort Wayne Area League of Women Voters, the Fort Wayne Urban League, and local community organizations for a powerful Nonpartisan Community Voter Outreach & Listening Canvass on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Volunteer teams departed from the Fort Wayne Urban League to visit nearby neighborhoods—listening to residents, sharing trusted voting information, and learning more about the challenges that may prevent Allen County voters from participating in elections. This effort was strictly nonpartisan and focused solely on strengthening civic engagement.

With only 14.57% of Allen County’s registered voters participating in the most recent primary election—and statewide turnout at 17%—this outreach was an important step toward understanding barriers and empowering our community to use their voice.

Volunteers shared resources like Vote411.org, information on Allen County Vote Centers, and guidance on checking or updating voter registration. Feedback gathered will help national partners evaluate outreach efforts and better understand how to increase voter participation.

Delta women showed up for service—and we are honored to help strengthen civic engagement across Fort Wayne.

🔺 SERVICE IN ACTION! 🔺

The Fort Wayne Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. had the honor of serving at The Bloom Project’s “The Metamorphosis of Me” program. Our Sorors were proud to support the young Kings and their families as they engaged in a powerful day of growth, connection, and opportunity.

The young men participated in professional networking, hands‑on workshops, and a dynamic college and career fair designed to strengthen their confidence, expand their vision, and prepare them for the future. It was a joy to stand alongside them and witness their transformation in real time.

A heartfelt congratulations to Arnetta Scruggs and her entire team at The Bloom Project for the phenomenal work they are doing for male youth in our community. Their dedication, excellence, and passion continue to make a lasting impact.

Two hundred fifty years later, America remains a nation of extraordinary promise and unfinished work.

As members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, we proudly carry forward the work of expanding opportunity, advancing justice, and strengthening our democracy for generations to come.

We celebrate freedom while acknowledging that it has not always been experienced equally. We honor those whose courage, sacrifice, and perseverance challenged our nation to become more just, and all who continue that work today.

Wishing a Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers and friends of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated! Today, we celebrate all fathers and father figures who are a constant source of strength and support for their families.

We also hold space for those who are grieving, remembering, or honoring the fathers they carry in their hearts.

Happy !

Today we honor the legacy of the last enslaved African Americans in Texas who were finally informed of their freedom, some two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. It was those people, and the generations of Texans who came after them, who made the bold declaration to celebrate this day, marking a reality we know far too well in this country: freedom may be delayed, but it will never be denied.

Though our fight for freedom sadly continues, today we pause to celebrate and embrace the joy of our ancestors who believed in the possibilities of a more promising tomorrow. And in that joy, we remain anchored, steadfast in our pursuit of true freedom and justice for all.
