On this World Cerebral Palsy Day, we stand in advocacy and support for children living with cerebral palsy around the globe. Every child deserves the right to move, explore, and participate fully in their community, and every child with CP deserves access to a properly fitted wheelchair.

በዚህ የዓለም የሴሬብራል ፓልሲ (Cerebral Palsy) ቀን፣ በዓለም ዙሪያ ከሴሬብራል ፓልሲ ጋር የሚኖሩ ሕፃናትን ለመደገፍና ድምፅ ለመሆን እንቆማለን። እያንዳንዱ ሕፃን የመንቀሳቀስ፣ አካባቢውን የመቃኘት እና በማኅበረሰቡ ውስጥ ሙሉ በሙሉ የመሳተፍ መብት አለው፤ እንዲሁም እያንዳንዱ ከሴሬብራል ፓልሲ ጋር የሚኖር ሕፃን ለሰውነቱ ተስማሚ የሆነ የመንቀሳቀሻ ወንበር (ዊልቸር) የማግኘት መብት ይገባዋል።

Saba Marcos is the founder of Agape Mobility Ethiopia. Inspired by her own experience as a polio survivor, Saba has dedicated her life to helping people with disabilities gain mobility and independence. In partnership with Free Wheelchair Mission, Agape Mobility Ethiopia distributes wheelchairs throughout the country, helping transform lives while providing compassionate, personalized care to each recipient.

Special Guest: Nuka Hart

Nuka Hart is Chief Executive Officer of Free Wheelchair Mission. Since joining the organization in 2017 and becoming CEO in 2019, she has helped expand its global reach and impact. Inspired in part by her Haitian heritage and the organization's work serving people with disabilities in Haiti, Nuka is passionate about ensuring more individuals around the world have access to mobility, independence, and opportunity.

Members of this incredibly generous organization know that each person's particular skills and talents are invaluable in God's kingdom to impact lives physically, emotionally and spiritually. One of AQG’s newest philanthropies is Wheelchair Cushion Covers for Ethiopia. Wheelchair cushions are important for comfort and enhanced circulation.

Agape Mobility Ethiopia, a local philanthropy, takes used wheelchairs donated in our community, repairs them and ships them for distribution in Ethiopia. Headwaters Church donates the material and AQG helps make the cushions that go on the chairs.

This projected started at AQG in March of 2026 and we have completed 140 cushion covers to date, with another 200 in the works.

The cushion covers are not quilted, they are sewn, and very easy to make. Kits are available at any AQG meeting with instructions. Kits are taken home to sew and returned at the next month’s meeting.

Ethiopians do not have access to mobility devices in their own country. Agape Mobility Ethiopia takes used wheelchairs, walkers, rollators and crutches, donated in our community, repairs them and ships them for distribution in Ethiopia.

Thank you to all our amazing volunteers! Today, this team decommissioned damaged wheelchairs for parts -- components that can be used to recondition other donated wheelchairs, both here and in Ethiopia. We're grateful for their hard work!
• 9 decommissioned devices
• Repaired and packed 3 pediatric standers, 4 pediatric wheelchairs, 45 small cushion covers and 12 packs of diapers.
