I would like to reiterate
The importance of teens driving safely. 💔

These 2 young men were also cross-country runners like Eddie.💔
A car accident in Sagner Tx claimed the life of 2 young men and has left another hospitalized and in critical condition.
19 yr Old Sam Musgrove
And Daniel Martinez also 19; died as a result of the accident. Both 2025 graduates.
Please be aware 🙏
The 100 Deadliest days are from Memorial day to Labor day. And are known as the most dangerous months for teen drivers.
Please talk to your teens about the responsibilities of driving and the dangers on the road.

🚨⚠️"100 Deadliest Days"⚠️🚨
The 100-day window between Memorial Day and Labor Day is disproportionately violent on Texas roadways.
☀️Summer Surge: Approximately 30% of all Texas teen-involved crash fatalities occur during these summer months. In the summer of 2024 alone, Texas ranked first nationally with 68 teen summer driving deaths.
🇨🇱Statewide:
Research tracks ◇Texas as having the ◇10th highest ◇fatal teen driver crash rate◇ in the country, averaging 6.17 deaths per 10,000 licensed teen drivers.
📌The Long-Term Streak: Motor vehicle crashes remain the leading cause of death for Texas teenagers.📌
The state's road safety crisis is continuous; Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) records show that November 7, 2000, was the last deathless day on Texas roads.

I have shared the GoFundMe link created by one of the young man's family.

This is Daniel Martinez and Sam Musgrave, Who were Killed in Crash on FM 455 near Lake Crest Drive in Sanger

SANGER, Texas — The Sanger community is mourning the tragic loss of two young lives after a devastating crash on FM 455 late Thursday night claimed the lives of former Sanger ISD student Sam Musgrave and current student Daniel Martinez.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on May 28 near Lake Crest Drive in Sanger. Emergency personnel from both Sanger and Pilot Point responded quickly to the scene following reports of a serious motor vehicle crash.

According to Sanger Independent School District, Sam Musgrave, a former student of the district, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two current Sanger High School students were extricated from the wreckage and transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.

In the hours following the crash, the community received further heartbreaking news when Daniel Martinez, one of the injured students and a member of the Sanger ISD cross country community, later died from injuries sustained in the collision.

The loss of both young men has sent shockwaves throughout Sanger, where classmates, teachers, coaches, friends, and family members are struggling to cope with the tragedy.

“This heartbreaking tragedy has impacted our entire school community, and our thoughts and prayers are with the students, their families, friends, classmates, and everyone affected,” Sanger ISD said in a statement sent to families.

Community members have since gathered in support of the victims' families, sharing tributes and memories of Musgrave and Martinez. Many described the young men as valued members of the school community whose loss will be deeply felt throughout Sanger.

Authorities have not yet released details regarding the cause of the crash, and the circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.

As the investigation continues, the Sanger community remains united in mourning the loss of Daniel Martinez and Sam Musgrave while offering prayers and support to their families, friends, teammates, and all those impacted by the tragedy.

Sanger ISD Mourns Loss of Former Student Following Vehicle Crash; Two Students Hospitalized

SANGER, Texas — Sanger Independent School District is mourning the loss of a former student and supporting two current students following a serious vehicle accident that occurred Thursday night, according to a statement released by the district.

Sanger ISD said three members of its cross country family were involved in the crash. The district said one student, a 2025 graduate of Sanger High School, died at the scene. Two additional Sanger High School students were transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

“This heartbreaking tragedy has impacted our entire school community,” Sanger ISD said in a message signed by Superintendent Dr. Tommy Hunter.

The district said its thoughts and prayers are with the students, their families, friends, classmates and everyone affected by the tragedy.

Sanger ISD said counselors and support staff will be available to assist students and employees who may need emotional support in the coming days. The district said counselors will be on call throughout the weekend and available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to Sanger ISD, parents and students needing assistance during the weekend can contact Sanger High School Principal Carly Sperry by email. The district said school officials will monitor communications and provide support as needed.

Sanger ISD asked the community to keep the families involved in their prayers and to respect their privacy during this difficult time. The district also encouraged parents to check in with their children, noting that tragic events can be difficult for students to process.

Sanger ISD said additional information regarding services or support opportunities will be shared with the community if the affected families grant permission.

The district said it remains focused on supporting students, staff and families as the community grieves the loss and prays for the recovery of those injured in the crash.
