Join me in wishing a very Happy 103rd Birthday to Crescencia Garcia.
Last year, at 102-years-old, her courageous World War II service was revealed.

Garcia is (as of last check) one of only six surviving members of an all-female, all-Black, segregated unit that was sent overseas during World War II. Known as the SixTripleEight, the 855 women that served in that unit are now receiving long-overdue recognition. She is Puerto Rican but emphatically will tell you she is a proud American.
