Today is Abused Women and Children's Awareness Day.
Every person deserves safety, respect, and the opportunity to live free from violence and abuse. Domestic violence affects individuals, children, families, and communities across South Dakota, but no one has to face it alone.
Across our state, local advocacy programs provide confidential support, information, safety planning, and connections to resources for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and other forms of abuse.
Advocates can help individuals explore their options, navigate systems, access emergency services, and find support that meets their unique needs.
If you or someone you know needs support, find an advocate in your area: https://sdnafvsa.com/advocates/
Together, we can support survivors, strengthen communities, and work toward a South Dakota free from violence.
