Today is Abused Women and Children's Awareness Day.

Every person deserves safety, respect, and the opportunity to live free from violence and abuse. Domestic violence affects individuals, children, families, and communities across South Dakota, but no one has to face it alone.

Across our state, local advocacy programs provide confidential support, information, safety planning, and connections to resources for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and other forms of abuse.

Advocates can help individuals explore their options, navigate systems, access emergency services, and find support that meets their unique needs.

CAVA’s annual garage sale will be happening on Saturday 8-12. Lots of very nice dressers, couches, recliners, end tables, and little odds and ends.
💜Majority will be Free Will Offering.
🩵Some of the big pieces will have suggested donations posted on them.

This sale aids in keeping our doors open and continuing the opportunity to assist victims escape the abuse they should’ve never had to endure.

🍋My daughter plans to have a little lemonade stand set up with the proceeds also going to CAVA.

Reaching out for help is near impossible when you think there isn’t any available. Knowing about CAVA, our services, and how to reach us will hopefully bring so many more people towards a safer environment. This beautiful banner Stateline Designs created for us will put our information where it can be easily seen when we’re out doing our events.

We are needing to brighten up our sign on the building. If anyone has even just a little white exterior paint sitting around, we would gladly take it off your hands. It’s not enough to even require a sample size container I think.

Thank you to Smith’s Drug, Olson Furniture, and Olive Branch for donating the prizes!

A great big thank you to all of the participants!! Having the courage to enter a competition that hasn’t been previously done can be somewhat nerve wracking but you all knocked it out of the park!

We took note on things to change for next years and look forward to making it an annual event.

Today we have Knoephla!!! Or Bacon Cheeseburger soup!! 4:00-6:30 😊

A big question I’ve been asked is how much soup to bring. Just a standard crockpot will do! No need to stress trying to make a huge batch.

We hope you’ll join us on next Friday to sample some delicious soups!
