Today was a milestone day for Habitat for Humanity St Lucie and Okeechobee as we officially broke ground on our very first Habitat-owned lot in Okeechobee County! 🎉🏠

While Habitat homes already exist in Okeechobee and we have proudly served local families through our Critical Repair Program, this marks the beginning of the new chapter as we expand our home building efforts in the community.

A heartfelt thank you to the South Florida PGA Foundation for their generous donation that made the purchase of this land possible. Their support is helping bring affordable home ownership opportunities, stability, and hope to more families in Okeechobee.

We are excited for what's ahead and grateful to everyone helping us build homes, communities, and hope. 💙🛠️

We had a fabulous Women Build Day with our current HIP Partners (homeowners in process), some of our amazing Habitat homeowners, and friends and family! I hope we can do this again soon.

Chris Robertson, Development and Marketing Director for Habitat for Humanity of St. Lucie & Okeechobee, is stepping down from his role with the organization.

Chris is grateful for the opportunity to serve Habitat’s mission and to work alongside dedicated staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners who remain deeply committed to expanding affordable housing opportunities in St. Lucie and Okeechobee counties. He is proud of the impact achieved during his tenure and wishes the organization continued success in its important work.
