Foster care is HARD y’all. Visits, therapists, doctor and dentist appointments, little ones having dental surgery because their parent couldn’t be bothered to brush their teeth, caseworkers, transporters who can’t even put a car seat in correctly, hateful and judgmental looks at your culturally diverse (and large) family, snide comments when you use WIC vouchers for a baby you need formula for, hassles in the grocery line while you make five separate transactions, complaints by others in a restaurant because your five year old has only every eaten Spagetti-O’s, nuggets, and hot dogs and is pitching a fit about the menu choices, lice, tears and tantrums, hard goodbyes, a failing system, and a judges choice who ruined a child’s possibility of a good future (or worse, ended up with them injured or dead), and so much more.
Despite ALL of that, we will keep saying yes to the innocent victims that we call our children. We will keep saying yes to HIS children as we have been called to rescue them.
“He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.” Deuteronomy 10:18
☝🏼☝🏼..and so will I.
Love my fellow warriors!
