FGCU Sigma Tau Delta

FGCU Sigma Tau Delta Sigma Tau Delta is an international honor society that recognizes high achievement in the study of English language and literature.

Each year, FGCU's Sigma Tau Delta chapter hosts literary celebrations, networking events, and professional workshops geared toward preparing students for graduate school as well as English-related careers after graduation. As Sigma members, students may participate in the Sigma Tau Delta International Convention, held in a different city each year. Members are also eligible for grants, scholarship

s, and internships, as well as other unique professional development opportunities. To join, undergraduates must have a minimum 3.0 GPA overall and a minimum 3.3 GPA in their English coursework (not including Composition I or II). Graduate students must have a minimum 3.3 GPA. Tonight, March 25th, at 5 pm in Merwin 205, Sigma Tau Delta will be hosting: "[Removed by Moderators]: A Humanities Student Panel on Intellectual Freedom."

This event will be a great discussion amongst peers and faculty about important contemporary topics such as censoring, book banning, and limited educational policies.

As FGCU Sigma Tau Delta President, Isabella continuously excels in supporting and managing our chapter of the organization on campus. Now, she plans to represent us, and herself, on the international level in New Orleans, LA!

Sigma is putting on a week long scavenger hunt starting Monday, February 23rd through Friday, February 27th. You will be visiting locations all over FGCU's campus including the library, Reed, Merwin, and more!

This fun activity will allow you to familiarize yourself with FGCU's English program and resources, as well as win a book-lover goodie basket upon completion!

Sigma Tau Delta is excited to announce that we are starting the search for new officers for the Fall 2026 semester!🎉

This is an amazing opportunity to gain incredible leadership experience, as well as access to special Sigma opportunities.
