Representative Don Mayhew has been wanting to do another local Vietnam Commemorative Pinning Ceremony as the National Program ends its 13 year run leading up to 30 November.
On 18 December in Iberia we will conduct a Ceremony.
Come join us as we recognize these Veterans. As of tonight we have 31 signed up and as in the past, the numbers will increase as we get closer to the Event.
Vietnam War Veteran Richard "Dick" Elgin will be the Guest Speaker. Dick was a helicopter pilot with the 23rd Americal Division in Vietnam-1969.
Currently we, the AUSA Fort Leonard Wood - Mid MO Chapter has recognized over 1300 Vietnam War Veterans during the past 4 years. We will continue to honor our Mid-Missouri Vietnam Veterans, individually or in a group, even though the National Program ended it run.

English poet Geoffrey Chaucer once said,
“all good things must come to an end,” but that doesn’t mean the mission of thanking and honoring Vietnam veterans will.
The Commemoration is formally preparing to conclude its operations on November 30, 2025. As we approach this important milestone, final activities, content publication, and public engagements are being carefully coordinated to ensure a respectful and impactful close to more than a decade of dedicated work honoring Vietnam veterans and their families.
