What an incredible event 🩵

Because of your support, we’re officially moving forward with the development of the Slow is Pro “Harbor Watch” App, a community-driven reporting and safety tool connecting captains and marine authorities in real time.

This raffle is STACKED! St. Thomas, you showed UP 💙 You will be able to buy tickets during the USVI charter yacht show by the 360 building as well as at our launch party at Box Bar this Saturday night.

Over $10,000 in prizes have been donated by some of the most generous and community-rooted businesses in the Virgin Islands, all to help support Slow Is Pro.

From wing foiling, private charters, parasailing, discovery flights & UTV tours, to local art, jewelry, experiences, apparel & dining.

 From the heart of White Bay to every busy waterway in the Virgin Islands — we are honored to recognize Hendo’s Hideout as a donor and supporter of the Slow Is Pro movement.

If you’ve ever been to Jost Van D**e, you know that Hendo’s isn’t just a beach bar — it’s a cornerstone of one of the most iconic anchorages in the Caribbean. On any given day, boats fill the turquoise waters right in front of their beach. It’s beautiful. It’s vibrant. But it’s also busy — and with that brings risks on the water.

That’s why Hendo’s stepping up to support boating safety and awareness is so important. They care about their guests, and want to do everything they can to keep their waters safe for all the families, friends and crews to come. Introducing Slow is Pro: we’re so happy you’re here 🤍
Born in the Virgin Islands. Built for the boating community. Made to save lives.

We are a nonprofit safety and awareness initiative working to make our waters safer — not just for captains and crew, but for every guest, swimmer, and soul who enjoys the sea and vacationing in these islands.

⛵️ Our mission is simple:
• Getting people to Slow down in anchorages — it saves lives.
• Distribute Emergency Action Sheets to yachts and charter boats based on jurisdiction.
• Support aspiring mariners through the Stephen L. Cross Jr. Scholarship.
• Assist emergency response teams

This movement was created in honor of Captain Stephen Cross Jr., who lost his life in a tragic boating incident. “Slow is Pro” was a motto he lived by, and if you were lucky enough to be a guest of his you heard it often. His legacy now fuels our purpose.

Whether you’re a boater, a local, or a visitor who just loves getting on/in the water— you can be part of the change.
