Slow Down for our Kids-Richard Hills Community A community group dedicated to keeping our kids safe by addressing speeding and unsafe driving.

At Coffee with the Chiefs last week they shared that Mountain Community Homes is doing ongoing sign surveys, so hopefully that means we see more safety signs throughout the neighborhoods and Public Works has plans in place for more signs that will go up as weather and time allows. Chief Julian also briefly mentioned there are plans for the mailboxes but didn’t have details just yet. I’ll be sure to follow up. As a heads up, the next Coffee with the Chiefs is going to be on March 31st at 10am. I’ll be sure to share the flyer.

Last minute reminder that Coffee with the Chiefs is this morning at 10am at Monument Ridge Community Center.
We’ve been seeing more 10mph when children present signs on General Patton St 🎉 I’m excited to see what other plans they have!

Here’s the summary of the information from Chief Julian:

• Speed Signage: Housing and Public Works is adding new 10mph when Children at Play signs. The two existing signs at the entrances to General Patton are not enough, and this is actively being addressed.
• Enforcement: Patrols in Rhicard Hills will continue through December.
• Parking Safety: They are looking into making no parking along roads/sidewalks a year-round rule to improve visibility and safety.
• Another traffic survey is planned for the spring.
• Safety Note: Please avoid engaging directly with speeding drivers for everyone’s safety. We have also been discouraged from writing down and turning in license plates.

They will continue monitoring the area and doing what they can with the resources available. Thank you again for your involvement and commitment to keeping our neighborhood safe.

Good morning and happy Thanksgiving week!
I’m so grateful for all of you and the support you’ve shown as we work together to improve neighborhood safety for our kids.
Unfortunately, I’m no longer able to attend Coffee with the Chiefs this Tuesday, but I’ve reached out to Chief Julian for updates from our last meeting. I’ll be sure to share any information I receive with everyone.

Thank you again for your support, and I hope you all have a safe and wonderful holiday!

Good morning, everyone!
A reminder that the next Coffee with the Chiefs meeting is this Tuesday, the 25th, at 10 a.m. at the Richard Hills Community Center. I’ll be attending to follow up on questions from our last meeting and to learn more about the current and upcoming safety measures being considered for our neighborhood.
If you can’t attend, please feel free to send me any specific questions or concerns you’d like brought up, and I’ll do my best to ensure they’re addressed.

Good morning, everyone!
I wanted to share a few key takeaways from Coffee with the Chiefs:

• Targeted enforcement: The police have been actively conducting targeted enforcement in our neighborhood to discourage speeding. Their presence is very much appreciated!

• Signage questions: We weren’t able to get clear answers about who manages signage in our neighborhood or why some speed limit signs are smaller than others. This is something we’ll continue to look into.

• Reporting speeding vehicles: If you notice a specific vehicle speeding, you can send me the license plate number and I’ll pass it along. However, please do not confront any drivers — while we all care deeply about keeping our children safe, we also want to keep every interaction safe and respectful.

• Submitting an ICE complaint: You can also submit an ICE complaint to make sure the Chief of Police is aware of ongoing issues. These can be done anonymously or you can request a follow-up.

Thank you all for caring about our community’s safety. Every bit of attention and support helps keep our neighborhood safer for our kids! 💛

Thanks so much for being here! I truly appreciate your support in this effort.

This page was created to bring our community together as we work to address speeding concerns and improve safety for our children. My goal is for this to be a space where we can share information, experiences, and ideas — and collaborate to raise awareness and create lasting change.

Together, we can make our neighborhood safer for every child.
