Outreach Fort Collins

Outreach Fort Collins Community outreach program, dedicated to serving downtown Fort Collins by connecting vulnerable populations to needed services.

Outreach Fort Collins is community-driven outreach to maintain our downtown as a safe and welcoming place while connecting our community’s most vulnerable to the services and supportive networks they need. It is a professionally staffed, on-the-street team who will build relationships with community members, service providers, businesses and city services as a means to address and deescalate disru

ptive behaviors downtown. Outreach Fort Collins seeks to:

-Resolve on street conflicts that currently pull emergency responders away from their primary task of maintaining public safety.

-Streamline community referrals for those who are vulnerable and in need of community-based resources.

-Maintain downtown as a vibrant and thriving destination to live, dine, work and visit. Outreach Fort Collins positively impacts the lives of those living in, working in, and visiting downtown Fort Collins.

What's the saying? A team that clays together...??? A huge shoutout to Heather with A Potter's Place for an awesome team building wellness event last week. We had a lot of laughs and learned about each other and a new art form. Of all our team, can you guess who was the only one with any pottery experience? Share your guess in the comments!

We’re so thankful to the folks at Alliance for Su***de Prevention of Larimer County for the QPR 2.0 training they provided our team last week. All of our staff have completed the Question Persuade Refer training offered by the alliance and may other agencies, however we needed a little more than it offered. It was great to work with Kim and her team to cater a training specifically to our teams needs. If you or your agency are in need of further trainings, the alliance is a great local resource! Shout out to Larimer County Behavioral Health Services Department for the funding and opportunity to provide great trainings like these for our team!

Last week our staff got to participate in a Liberatory Harm Reduction training presented by the Yarrow Collective. We were so impressed with the eye opening experience, the conversations, and the insight provided by Ashleigh and Lucrecia. Especially for our service provider partners, we highly recommend this training for your teams!! Many thanks to Larimer County Behavioral Health Services Department for the support to make a training like this possible for OFC!

If you are seeking indoor shelter, there is space this weekend!! The city has declared Emergency Weather Activation for shelter. This means there is significant plan for expansion of shelter beds and day services. Our partners with Homeward Alliance will have the Murphy Center open 8am-5pm both Saturday and Sunday. And Fort Collins Rescue Mission and Catholic Charities - Serving Larimer and Weld County will have expanded indoor space for guests. It really does take an extra lift, and there are church partners stepping up to shelter folks in coordination with both FCRM and Catholic charities, and Transfort providing transportation. Thanks to all the staff at our partner agencies, and the City of Fort Collins to pulling this all together!

⚠️ The City and its partners have activated the Emergency Weather Shelter Plan for the nights of Friday, Jan. 23, through Sunday, Jan. 25, due to forecasted overnight temperatures near or below zero, wind chill and/or precipitation.

For information on sheltering options, visit FortCollins.gov/EmergencyShelter.
