A week ago, the NoCo Kitten Mama family lost a member. PJ crossed the Rainbow Bridge to be with our other fur angels.

PJ came to us as a one day old on June 26, 2019. PJ and her 6 siblings were born under a dog house in Wyoming. The lady who found them, took the kittens to Cheyenne Animal Shelter. They were transferred to Fort Collins Cat Rescue. 4 siblings were put with a nursing mom cat and the other 3 came to me.

At five weeks, during weaning, we realized something wrong was with PJ. She wasn't able to keep down solid food. In September, CSU diagnosed her with focal megaesophagus and severe GERD. Around the same time we discovered she was allergic to corn.

In November 2019, she finally reached surgery weight for her spay. In December, she was cleared for adoption. She finally became a Baker.

In May 2022, PJ was diagnosed with feline asthma caused by damage from her acid reflux.

PJ got medication multiple times a day. Even with her medical issues, she was a sweet baby who loved to play fetch and cuddle. She also liked to help with my sewing, and the multitude of fosters who have come through this house.

On Sunday morning we welcomed this litter of 5.

They are 10 days old and are healthy. Unfortunately, their mom was attacked by a dog and didn't survive.

Sorry for the kitten radio silence.

Dylan is 12 weeks old and is finally surgery weight. This little girl is the only survivor of her litter. She is a sweet cuddly girl. Dylan has been healthy and enjoys spending time with the resident cats and humans.

The other is Penguin. She came to us on July 23rd. When she first arrived, I was so busy managing her upper respiratory infection, malnourishment, and dehydration that I initially aged her wrong. I initially aged her 3.5-4 weeks, but she was closer to 6 weeks. After 2.5 weeks in our care, she had gained weight and become playful. She is getting healthier every day.

Sparky crossed the Rainbow Bridge last night.

He was found under a porch in the mud along with a sibling. The sibling passed before we got them.

This has been a rough kitten season. I'm not the only kitten raiser who is struggling this season.
