35 years is certainly impressive & we are thankful for everyday of the 17years that Angus was ours! One of the most iconic schooling and show horses for our founder's teaching program, Lucky Star Equine Management & Training
Retired from teaching at age 30, and thriving in his retirement as a Lucky Stars Longshot.
We are so grateful for Angus' health & longevity, but it still doesn't make it easier to say goodbye. It hurts, A Lot! We told ourselves we're preparing for the inevitable moment, for many years, especially once they are 30, but there's really no real way to be prepared to say goodbye.
Angus truly was an icon! He taught countless riders, youth through seniors, of all levels. Angus was the horse who did it all! Lessons, shows, game days, parades, birthdays, trail rides (he loved wading thru the water in the lakes/ponds), dressing in costumes for every holiday, competing in ranch sorting for many years, staying fit with groundwork training (especially in his retirement years). You name it, Angus did it! He definitely lived a full life in his 35 years.
He leaves behind countless memories & lessons. I know he loped right on through Heaven's pasture gate last night... Well, actually, he probably stopped to scratch his t**h & belly on it first, in true Angus style.
We are devastated to say goodbye to such an incredible horse, we are Beyond grateful for every moment with him!
Thank you for our incredible team to help us "grow them old". Our veterinarians Dr. Wendy Gaddis & Dr. Rebecca Hendricks of Block and Bridle Veterinary Service and our farrier, Molly Gasperich, for always providing top notch care for our herd so they can thrive with such incredible longevity!
Til we ride again, sweet boy Angus, We love you so much! 💜🖤🩵
