The 2026 NoCo DS Walk is TOMORROW (October 3rd)!

Location: Boardwalk Park (100 N. 5th Street; Windsor, CO)
Time: Onsite Registration starts at 9:00AM, walk event starts at 10AM, event ends at 1:00PM

Already registered but have not received your shirts? Pick up your shirts at the registration tables tomorrow morning.

This is geared to be a family friendly/all-ability event. There will be inflatables, games, music, dancing, face painting, balloon artists, princess/Star Wars visits, food trucks, and a vendor fair to enjoy!

💙💛 Happy Down Syndrome Awareness Month from the Northern Colorado Down Syndrome Association!💛💙

October is here, and we’re kicking it off with celebration, connection, and community!
At the Northern Colorado Down Syndrome Association, we exist to provide support and connection for individuals with Down syndrome and their families through advocacy, awareness, and relationships. What started with just a few determined parents has grown into a vibrant community serving hundreds of people across Northern Colorado—from Fort Collins and Loveland to Greeley, Windsor, and beyond.

This month, we invite you to join us in:
💛Celebrating the unique abilities, joy, and contributions of our loved ones with Down syndrome
💛Building deeper understanding and inclusion in our communities
💛Strengthening authentic relationships that make all the difference
💛Supporting families through scholarships, new parent baskets, groups, and advocacy

This special milestone walk brings our community together for a day of belonging, awareness, and fundraising that fuels scholarships, events, and support for families all year long. Whether you have Down syndrome, love someone who does, or simply want to stand with us—everyone is welcome!

Get excited for our 2026 food trucks! Averys Modern Teahouse - The Vintage Cup Coffee, Kona Ice, Antojitos del sureste, and Corndoggies! They will be serving up yummy food and good vibes for our event! Excited to see you all on Saturday (October 3) at Boardwalk Park in Windsor, CO!

Only a couple of days left until our 10th annual WALK!

Another special thing we are bringing back this year is Integrated Therapy of Northern Colorado will have their all-abilities choir perform the National Anthem prior to the Walk. If anyone would like to join them to sing the morning of the walk, feel free to join them on the stage!

ITNC exists to provide best-practice Music Therapy services, partnering with individuals with developmental or acquired disabilities, their families, and the community to promote positive, interactive, and independent lifestyles. To everyone following Averys Lights journey. We had the incredible opportunity six months ago to hire the one and only Lori Couch as our executive Director. You don’t see her often because she’s always behind the scenes but everything that Averys light is doing is all because of her! We have accomplished so much since Lori has joined our organization. We are truly humbled and honored to be able to call her a friend and a part of Averys Light.
Lori is up for the 2026 Ally if Inclusion award. There is no one more deserving!
