🤩 Taneal Behm- Founder and CEO of Integrated Pediatric Therapy & Iron Horse Therapeutic Farm

🤩 Her specialty is primarily in treating in our Iron Horse Therapeutic Farm setting and using equine movement or farm based therapy to support growth and development. She is equally passionate about creating space and opportunities for families to connect and feel supported. Part of our mission involves creating events that support people living with disabilities and their families and providing community education to increase support and awareness.

🤩 Her favorite OT activities include using animals to teach functional life skills. She loves using our goats at Iron Horse Therapeutic Farm to help work through executive functioning skills and frustration tolerance. She is also passionate about finding just the right movement from one of our horses to support a client's sensory system or postural goals. She loves problem solving with our team to ensure every client we serve receives the best therapy possible.

🤩Message from Taneal: Looking back over the past 13 years, it's crazy to think this all started with a poem (Iron Horse), my horse Cookies and a God given desire to serve. I am deeply grateful for my husband supporting me and coming alongside in this adventure. I am also grateful for my family who spends time each week helping. Lastly, I am so grateful for this incredible team and the families who trust us with their loved ones.

Happy Occupational Therapy Month! 🩵

Part of what makes Iron Horse so special is the passionate, skilled and creative OT team that serves patients on a daily basis! We partner with Integrated Pediatric Therapy Associates to provide occupational therapy to the Northern Colorado community.

OTs are holistic practitioners that focus on the skills needed to live one’s best life, and engage in what is meaningful to them. The OTs at the farm are lucky to work at a unique setting that combines the use of animals, outdoors, & lots of collaboration to maximize therapeutic outcomes! ☀️

Thank you to our friends at Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction for volunteering their time & efforts to spruce up the farm! This amazing team built us new storage in our shed, redid our sensory pasture bridge & built a swing hookup in our garden. We couldn’t do these things without them! 🩵❤️

🤩 Her specialty is primarily in trauma- informed care, equine movement, and farm-based therapy!

🤩 Her favorite OT activities include supporting not only her clients through direct intervention but also their family as a whole as they navigate life with special needs.

🤩 Fun fact about her she gets to work withboth of her horses llias & honey, at the farm in equine movement sessions. At home she has 3 other pets ( 2 cats and a dog)!
