Huge shoutout to our amazing community and foster team! This teenager was spotted and safely rescued by a brave community member with eyes crusted shut, hissing, scratching, and biting. After a good clean-up and some TLC, this fierce little one was curled up in a foster’s lap and purring the very same day. Not your typical feral, just a scared kitty who clearly knows it’s been given a second chance.

Thank you to the concerned community members who saw our 2 youngsters in a trap today. We set the trap at 7:30 am and snagged them to get spayed and or neutered today. We have been working in this colony and will release them when they are fixed. There are 3 others in the same spot that we will be working on. Please do not tamper with the traps as we are trying to keep the ferals healthy and reduce the population 🙂

Lastly, whoever took 2 kitten traps from an alley between 22nd and 24th of Main. If you could so kindly return them it would be appreciated. We do spend our own time and money on supplies.

Sometimes these little ferals come in pretty sick. This little gal is so gunked up she cant open her eyes and breath through her nose. Although she is about 5-6 weeks old, her lack of smell and sickness has really made her underweight and she struggles with a raspy breath. We will nurse her until she is stable.

Once babies are stable we try to foster them out until their immune systems are healthy enough to go to the Dedman. We also make sure they don’t spread what they have to the rest of the shelter animals. Currently there are 2 litters that are needing some foster care. Perfect for families and people that have some time on their hands to love on these littles.

Let us know if you are interested! If you can’t foster and want to help with the trapping side of things please let us know. We could also take donations for formula, litter, medical expenses and food. Please message us for more details.

This poor little guy just got vaccinated and all fixed for his life outdoors. However, we want to give him a chance because he is about 10-13 weeks old and just too little for a rough life outdoors. Thank you to the Dedman Foundation of Fort Benton for offering to socialize him. He should be up for adoption soon 🎉🎉

HELP NEEDED👇

It is going to be a busy spring. So far we have a handful of litters within the feral populations around town. When they are old enough (about six weeks old) we will need some foster homes to socialize and work with them until they are vaccinated. After they are vaccinated, they are able to go to the Dedman Foundation to be adopted, so the foster period is just a crucial few weeks in their lives, after they are old enough to be eating wet or dry food but not quite old enough for the shelter. If interested…… please apply to be a foster at the Dedman shelter. GREAT FOR FAMILIES WITH KIDS

Feel free to ask questions.

🐾 Support the Fort Benton Feral Task Force! 🐾

We’ve been hard at work all summer, trapping, vaccinating, and spaying/neutering cats and kittens in our community. 🙌📣Since May, we’ve helped a total of 43 cats and kittens! 🙌📣Right now, we have four sweet kittens and their momma in our care. The kittens will soon be ready for adoption at the Dedman, and momma will be spayed and returned to her home territory.

💥 Here’s how you can help:

Make a Donation: You can donate at Highwood Vet—just let them know it’s for the Fort Benton Feral Task Force. Every dollar goes directly to care, supplies, and medical costs.

Become a Foster: We provide everything you need to care for a foster cat or kitten. Just offer them a bit of love and socialization, and then bring them to the Dedman when they’re ready to find a forever home!
Together, we’re making Fort Benton a kinder place for these cats. Thank you for your support!

To all the ladies that help and a special shoutout to the Dedman for helping fund and adopt!

We have not checked in for a while due to summer craziness. However, we are back at it in full force with 2 neuters last week and with 1 spay/ 1 neuter this week. Fingers crossed we keep the 2 a week going!

It ‘Tis the season for all sort of kittens. If anyone is willing to foster we are happy to supply the materials. These beans are eating wet food and going to the bathroom on thier own. They just need some support in ensuring they are eating and remaining healthy. Looking for a foster for 2-3 weeks so that these littles can be socialized, stay healthy and thrive before they can receive thier first round of vaccination. To foster please contact the Dedman! Feel free to come check them out at Missouri River Outfitters where they will be spending their days for now 🙂

These won’t be the only littles looking for a foster! Great for families with love to give.
