Today we’re feeling especially thankful.

At Team River Runner, our hearts are full. We’re thankful for the veterans and their families who trust us to be part of their healing journeys. We’re thankful for the volunteers who show up with open hands and open hearts. We’re thankful for our community partners, donors, and supporters who make every paddle stroke and every moment on the water possible.

🚣‍♂️💙 Big shoutout to Team River Runner – an amazing nonprofit that uses paddling to heal, empower, and connect veterans and their families through time on the water.

The Fort Belvoir Chapter is one of the longest-running in the program, offering kayaking sessions on the base for service members recovering from injury or trauma. It’s more than just learning to paddle – it’s about rediscovering strength, building community, and finding freedom on the water. 🌊

From flatwater training to whitewater adventures, Team River Runner has been helping veterans and their families turn rivers into places of recovery and resilience.

If you’ve ever thought kayaking could be therapeutic (spoiler: it is!), this crew proves it every single week. 🙌

Today we remember September 11, 2001—the lives lost, the bravery shown, and the people who carried one another through unthinkable tragedy. We hold close the families and communities who still carry the weight of that day. Team River Runner will never forget.
