From the Projects Swimming Pool to the Pacific Ocean

I grew up in “Monkey Island” in the harsh East Terrace projects of San Antonio where rampant gun violence, unsolved murders, generational illiteracy, crippling drug addiction, lewd drunkenness, the school-to-prison pipeline, and chronic hopelessness & despair littered the landscape.

I grew up in a place my siblings and I woke up countless mornings on the untiled concrete mattress due to a subconscious tuck and roll out of bed in response to the urban soundtrack of gun shots.

So… for me to be SAILING, SWIMMING, and SNORKELING in the Pacific Ocean with my sons Praise and Jireh is an extremely radical departure from my childhood and summers. So, I am filled with bottomless joy and gratefulness.
✅ God’s agape love is based on the VIRTUE of the GIVER, not the worthiness of the recipient

Sailing and Snorkeling in the Pacific Ocean is a LOOOOONG WAY from the projects “Lincoln Swimming Pool” where my summers were spent.

To God alone be praised‼️🙌🏾‼️🙌🏾‼️
