While we didn’t hit our goal of 100 adoptions in August, we ended STRONG with our sweet special needs boy, Scooter landing a forever home 🧡

Scooter came to us all the way from Louisiana after he suffered a septic joint infection that left his front limbs paralyzed. Despite his hardships, Scooter remained the most sweet, happy boy. We are thrilled for little Scooter & wish him nothing but the very best on his next adventure!

So with tomorrow being the last day of the month, I went to check our system to see how many adoptions we’ve done so far this month.. Any guesses??

95!

95 adoptions so far in the month of August 💖

But I want to make that #100 so bad! 100 cats in homes, how awesome would that be?!

So I’ve decided that for tomorrow (8/31) ONLY I am going to do a “100 for $100” special! All cats/kittens/everybody is a flat $100 in hopes that we can reach 100 adoptions before the month is over!

If you’re looking for endless entertainment, Layla is your girl! 🤩

This girl is absolutely hilarious. She has SO much personality and is incredibly confident, outgoing, and ready to be the center of attention!

Layla was originally found as a stray living in a cat colony, but TNR volunteers quickly realized she was far too friendly to be living on the streets. She made her way to April’s Kittens, and she’s been keeping everyone laughing ever since!

These days, Layla loves sunbathing in the windows, playing, hanging out in the catio, and making sure there’s never a dull moment. She’s also incredibly smart and even knows a few tricks!

If you’re looking for a fun, social, silly girl who is guaranteed to keep you entertained, come meet Layla! 💗

Tonight, we made the decision to save an entire room of cats at the city shelter after a cat housed in that same room tested positive for panleukopenia.

Because of being near a positive case, every cat in the room was considered exposed. They were all deadline-listed, and without intervention, they were in danger of losing their lives because they had been exposed to the deadly and highly contagious disease.

So, we took all 9 cats into our care, giving every single one of them a chance.

The 9 cats are now strictly isolated in our isolation ward. Our team will be monitoring them closely and providing proactive supportive care while we wait and hope that none of them develop panleuk.

If you’d like to help us care for these cats, please consider donating. Their care will require additional testing, supplies, medical care, and lots of TLC. 💓
