After over 25 hours of no sleep, and 19 hours of straight softball, I want to give several thanks out.
First, thank you to ALL 23 teams who came out to support this cause. This truly would not have been possible without your support. I spoke with team members from Louisiana, Texas, and Missouri yesterday and it was truly amazing to see how far some came just to support.
Second, we want to thank our 10 vendors who came out to support and for all of their donations! There was some great food and goodies to buy and I heard nothing but good! Also, thank you to Nucor for setting up a tent and passing out free water to all!
Third, thank you for every umpire who came out and volunteered their entire day to umping for free. Thank you, Bobby, for orchestrating the umpires and overseeing them to ensure every field was ran smoothly!
Next, thank you to Mayor MacNichol and Apostle McGhee for speaking at our honorary ceremony. Thank you to Shanna Marlar for singing the National Anthem (you did amazing)! Thank you to each of the victim’s family members, survivors, and friends of all who came out to support our ceremony. It was a true honor getting to meet everyone, speak, and give my condolences in person. Each of you are still in our prayers.
Thank you to all who took their time to volunteer to keep official books! If I miss anyone, I truly apologize (and please let me know so that I can add you to this list)- but Tabitha Petty, Scotty Griffin, Paula McNeice, and Melissa Faucett took time out of their days to come help out on the books.
Thank you to West Fraser, who not only was our largest donor, bringing in $10,000, but who had staff who came out and volunteered throughout the day in the concession stand!
Thank you to the community for rallying together to come support our event!
Thank you for every business and individual who donated to our silent auction. Our auction was a success and brought in some good money for these families and survivors.
Thank you to every. single. donation that was made. This event wouldn’t have been as successful without each of you. You still have time to jump in and donate!
Thank you to everyone who filled-in, in the concession stand, helped clean up, etc. Your work did not go unnoticed.
Thank you to Adrianna Archer for helping with everything! She stepped in and I saw her filling several roles with no complaints.
Thank you to Troy and Paula McNeice for everything they did. They brought in a ton of donations and items for our silent auction, and we appreciate it so much!
Thank you to Jenna Hendershot for coming out and taking amazing pictures of our event!
Thank you to all of the news crews, radio stations, and newspaper crews who came out and spent the day with us! This event grew so much from your coverage and we thank you for that?
Thank you to the Civic Center for the usage of their fields and a major shoutout to Lauren Petty for being on call all day, tending to fields, making sure bathrooms were stocked, and doing so much more!
If I forgot anyone, I am truly sorry, please let me know so I can recognize you! And if I did forget to mention you, please know that you are so appreciated!
Yesterday ran smoothly and was a great success. We never dreamed this event would have turned into what it was. We saw some things to fix and saw some really good things. We hope all come out to support next year, as we make this an annual event. You will see this being one of the biggest tournaments in South Arkansas, I’m speaking that into existence now. We will post totals raised as soon as we gather them.
