💜 Help Me Build Shirley’s Thrift Store for Waupaca County 💜
I’m so excited to share a dream that’s been growing in my heart for a long time — Shirley’s Thrift Store. We’re still in the middle of remodeling, but I wanted to open up about what this means to me, where it all started, and how you can help shape what’s coming next.
Many of you know me from SwapMoms, the community I built in Fond du Lac. Through SwapMoms, I got to meet incredible people and give away hundreds of pieces of clothing to families in need. We weren’t just swapping clothes — we were supporting each other, sharing stories, and proving that community can make a real difference. When I moved to Weyauwega last year, I knew I wanted to bring that same heart and impact to my new home.
Shirley’s Thrift Store is named after my grandma Shirley. Some of my favorite memories are of us wandering through Goodwill, laughing as we dug through racks, finding clothes we could afford and make our own. It wasn’t about the brands or the price tags — it was about the time together and making the most of what we had. When Shirley passed away, I knew I wanted to carry her name forward in a way that could keep giving back.
My goal is to merge everything I’ve learned from SwapMoms with Shirley’s Thrift Store, creating not just a thrift shop, but a resource for Waupaca County. We’re working on programs like:
Free clothing vouchers for families in need
Emergency packs for people facing crises
Back-to-school drives & winter coat giveaways
Job readiness closets for those starting fresh
“Take What You Need” racks for urgent needs
But to make sure we’re building something that truly helps, I need your input. Whether you’re a church, a business, a school, or an individual, your feedback matters more than ever.

Your responses will guide us as we prepare to open, ensuring Shirley’s Thrift Store reflects what our community really needs. This is about more than clothes — it’s about honoring Shirley, carrying forward what SwapMoms stood for, and creating a place where kindness, resourcefulness, and dignity always come first.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Together, we can build something that makes a real difference. 💜
