WHAT A SUMMER!

Looking back at photos, it’s hard to believe how much we packed into one summer with Benton County 4-H!

From 4-H Day Camps and Camp Benton to the many long, busy days of the Benton County Fair, this crew has been there through it all.

There were early mornings, late nights, endless supplies to haul, questions to answer, activities to lead, problems to solve, lots of laughs…and probably more than a little exhaustion along the way!

But behind every activity, camp experience, fair project and special memory for our 4-H’ers are people who genuinely care about making these opportunities happen for kids.

I am incredibly grateful for the staff I had beside me this summer. It truly takes a team to pull off everything that happens in Benton County 4-H, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group to share this crazy, rewarding summer with.

Thank you for the hard work, flexibility, laughter and heart you brought to this summer.

We worked hard. We laughed a lot. We made memories. We got BINGOS! And most importantly, we helped create some pretty incredible experiences for kids.

That’s a wrap on one amazing Benton County 4-H summer!

There are just too many great moments from fair week not to share!

Here are a few miscellaneous snapshots from around the Benton County Fair — 4-H’ers, families, friends, fair fun and all those little moments that make the week so memorable.

From the show rings and barns to the Exhibit Building and everywhere in between, Benton County 4-H was well represented all week long!

Thank you to our youth, families, volunteers, supporters and fairgoers who helped make the 2026 Benton County Fair one to remember.

📸 Have some great 4-H fair photos on your phone? Add them in the comments — we’d love to see fair week through your eyes, too!

52nd Annual Rooster Crowing Contest!

Saturday at the Benton County Fair brought plenty of laughs and a longtime fair tradition to the Cottonwood Stage! Benton County 4-H and the Benton County Fair Board hosted the 52nd Annual Rooster Crowing Contest, with WVAL broadcasting live and Benton County 4-H Extension Educator Ann Olson serving as emcee for the competitions.

Of course, the minute the timer started, the roosters suddenly got quiet! Eventually the crows started coming, and even WVAL’s Gary and Cindy had a little confusion over what officially qualified as a crow while keeping count!

When the final crow was counted, Emily N. and her rooster, Freckles, claimed the championship with an impressive 13 crows!

Following the rooster competition, it was time for the 2nd Annual Human Crowing Contest — and the humans were definitely more willing to perform!

A huge thank you to Mr. Twisty for sponsoring cash prizes for our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in both age divisions. We had an awesome turnout with 11 participants in the 16 & older division and 6 participants in the 15 & under division.

Our contestants brought their best rooster moves, sounds and personalities to the stage, and the audience ROARED with laughter and cheers at their performances!

Thank you to WVAL, Mr. Twisty, the Benton County Fair Board, our contestants, our roosters and everyone who gathered around the Cottonwood Stage for keeping this fun Benton County Fair tradition going strong!

There’s just something about a rooster crowing contest that makes the fair feel like the fair!

Friday night of the Benton County Fair, the Cottonwood Stage was filled with talent as we celebrated our 2026 Benton County 4-H Fashion R***e! This year’s theme, “Stitching Our Legacy,” was a perfect way to showcase the creativity, hard work and talents of our 4-H youth.
