This Saturday! Styrofoam collection at Northampton High School

The Northampton High School Environmental Club is holding their annual Styrofoam Collection event on Saturday, May 16th! The event will be at Northampton High School from 8-10:30am. The cost is $5 per bag.

Eligible items include clean white EPS foam, rigid packaging, styrofoam boxes, and other EPS expanded polystyrene. Ineligible items include food service foam, colored foam, meat trays, packing peanuts or foam, styrofoam cups, and other XPS extruded polystyrene.

Please remove all tape, do not bring in black trash bags or colored styrofoam, no cardboard or plastic labels, and no marker.

OPENING DAY for 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 is tomorrow, Saturday, April 4.
THE RECENTER at the Northampton Glendale Transfer Station:
Our goal is to keep useable items out of the landfill. Yes to ReUse! People drop off usable items Everything is free.
𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻
The ReCenter season runs from April through late fall. It is open on the first and third Saturdays, 8:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m. Volunteers do the work to make our ReCenter happen. Come by and say hi!
The ReCenter is open anyone with either a Northampton Transfer Station permit, or a ReCenter permit. If you don't have Transfer station permit for 2026, you can get a ReCenter permit for $10. You don't need to be a resident of the city to get the ReCenter permit. It can obtained on-site during open hours at the transfer station booth.
The ReCenter located at the Glendale Transfer Station at 170 Glendale Road.

Note on donations: We are limited somewhat by our current space, plus we have to pay to toss items that don't get taken home by someone. Please see this list for what we can probably accept. We do get tons of great stuff coming though here... you never know what a trip to the ReCenter will bring!

Just 11 days. Last week volunteers cleaned and straightened. While we're waiting, we'll share some photos of some items that are looking for new owners.

STYROFOAM COLLECTION
SATURDAY, January 10. 8 am-10:30 am
Northampton High School - enter parking lot at Milton St
Save your styrofoam up for these collections every 6 months or so. Get your styrofoam waste processed properly!
