When Amber isn’t caring for the 48 sanctuary animals and tending to the farm, she works full-time managing a local veterinary practice. It has been a tough week here at the sanctuary. It’s hard to cope with the sudden loss of our sweet Sara. 😔
Sara began to struggle with getting up and walking over the past year. I had to help her get up a few times a day, but once she was on her feet, she could walk, although unsteady. Her appetite and strength had been declining recently though and I came home from work to find she had passed away. Sara was with us for almost 8 years, and her sisters, Winnie & Mary are here and their presence will help keep the memory of Sara alive. 💙

Backstory about Sara:

I had rescued the sisters from a guy who had them listed (along with their siblings) on Craigslist in 2018. They were being sold as thanksgiving centerpieces and the mom had already been slaughtered. 😢
There were close to a dozen piglets in the bunch and I found another rescue to take the boys and I adopted the sisters. Sara was the runt of the litter for sure! She made up for that as she got older and she grew to be larger than her sisters! I’m so thankful we saved them from that horrific fate that day. There is definitely a void here since she has passed and we will continue to miss her, but I hope she’s running and playing again. 🌈 🐽

Sorry for the lack of posts recently, but behind the scenes there’s been a lot of labor being done to cleanup from the flash floods. Thankfully, the only damage here was lots of wet barns and pig houses. We got them cleaned out and filled with fresh, dry bedding today! 🥵
We ran out of bedding, so it’ll take a few more bags to finish up the barns.
These happy faces say it all though 🥰

Smokey has been sponsored by Christie for a month and Percy & Benny are sponsored monthly by Gwen. Thank you so much ladies!

Sponsorships help us cover the costs of feed, bedding, medications, and any extra expenses monthly. You can sponsor an animal at Full Belly Farm for just $25 for a month and 100% goes to the animal’s care.

We have found a feed bin for $1500 cheaper than most, but still need donations to meet our goal! See links below 👇🏻

🚨 FUNDRAISER FRIDAY! 🚨

Help us fill up our feed bins!
Our donations are extremely low right now 😔
I know that the rising costs of gas and everyday expenses are a struggle for everybody right now and we can definitely relate! We work full-time jobs in addition to running the sanctuary and we are always looking for ways to cut back on unnecessary costs.

Our feed bill averages $500 monthly. We recently posted a fundraiser for a grain bin, which could lower our costs of food tremendously by being able to buy in bulk!
If everyone donated a small amount, we could raise the funds in no time!

Here are some ways you can help our sanctuary:

🛍️ Buy our shirts on Bonfire:

💲 Donate via PayPal or Venmo:

➡️ You can also donate directly on our account at Miller’s Feed & Seed in Greenhill if you prefer!

We are very grateful for each and every donation or purchase! Even if you can’t donate, please share!

🚨 Florence Animal Shelter - Benny & Jet

PET HOMES ONLY

Benny (larger one) & Jet are male mini pigs less than a year old. Both are still intact as they are both cryptorchid and require a more invasive surgery to be neutered. Each surgery costs $300-500 and the shelter has no budget for that!

These boys need donations to cover their surgeries and of course ADOPTERS!

🐷 Donate via for the pigs!

Please share and help if you can!

🚨Florence Animal Shelter pigs still waiting on homes! PET HOMES ONLY

These 3 girls have been at the shelter since winter! They’re all very sweet and friendly.
The 2 larger girls (Linda & Kathy) came in together, but do not like each other so they have to be adopted separately. However they get along with other pigs just fine. Beatrice is the smaller black pig and she has stayed behind while all of her babies were adopted out. 😞

They have not been spayed but will not be adopted out to be used for breeding!
We are happy to help get them adopted in any way we can. If you have questions about these girls, please DM us or comment here. If you can’t adopt, please share!
