As our program funding comes to a close, we want to express our deep appreciation for the opportunity to serve our community. Working alongside such dedicated organizations has been an honor, and together we’ve been able to reach people in so many meaningful ways.

To the participants and community members we’ve had the privilege to serve — thank you. Your trust and willingness to grow with us have been the heart of this program. We are grateful for every story shared, every connection made, and every step forward taken together.

If so and you live in Kentucky, the Ryan White Part B program is for you. If you don’t live in Kentucky, they can likely help you connect with the appropriate program in your home state. Bracken County Health Department offers harm reduction services by appointment or on a walk-in basis. They offer quality health education, sterile supplies, Narcan and HIV and Hepatitis C testing. The Bracken County Health Department has also partnered with UK HealthCare to provide Hepatitis C treatment in their clinic via telehealth. Caracole is a nonprofit AIDS service organization that is located in Cincinnati. Their mission is to “positively change lives in the fight against HIV/AIDS through prevention, housing and care.” They offer many different services including prevention education, and case management and housing assistance for people who are living with HIV. Three Rivers District Health Department offers multiple locations for harm reduction services. Each location offers health education, sterile supplies, Narcan and HIV and Hepatitis C testing. Their newest location in Carroll County is a mobile unit that operates once a week on Wednesdays. Both Pendleton County and Owen County locations offer harm reduction services Monday through Friday. Harm reduction programs are evidenced based tools to connect specific people with resources to protect and improve their quality of health.

Starting today, the PIER Recovery Community Center is open at their new 336 West 9th Street location in Newport! They are no longer at 1002 Monmouth Street.
The PIER Recovery Community Center provides a number of services which positively impact the lives of those in need. These services include substance use and mental health peer support, housing assistance, re-entry services, LGBTQ+ support, and employment readiness assistance. If you are in Northen Kentucky and are looking to get tested for HIV and other transmittable disease, the NKY Health Department provides these services at their four health clinics and at community events throughout the region. The Health Department’s HIV Prevention & Testing program seeks to prevent infection, test individuals, and link individuals to care and services. Learn more about this program at the link below.

Harm Reduction programs provide clients with access to substance use disorder treatment, overdose prevention, sterile supplies for injection use, drug testing supplies, wound care, sexually transmitted infections testing and treatment, education, and so much more. There are over 81 SSPs (Syringe Services Programs) in 67 counties in Kentucky. Because of these programs, lives have been saved and changed. Did you know that UK HealthCare offers Hepatitis C treatment in local health departments? In Northen KY, you can get treatment at the Pendleton County Health Department and the Bracken County Health Department. This program uses telehealth services to connect you to providers at UK HealthCare for fast, quality treatment. All insurances are accepted including Medicare and Medicaid. Medications are shipped straight to your door or for pick up at the health department. Treatment has never been so easy!
