Creativity, laughter, and fun filled the day at FCCA as our Thrive On Afterschool Program wrapped up its spring session!

Ms. Donna's second-grade scholars proudly showcased their artistic talents by painting beautiful sunflowers and honeycombs, while our 5th and 6th grade scholars enjoyed an afternoon of exciting water activities led by Mr. Jerimiah and Ms. Gigi (Genesis). From splashing and playing to creating lasting memories with friends, scholars stayed active and engaged while celebrating a successful season of learning and enrichment.

What a wonderful way to close out the spring session! 💙

"A Family Affair" was a night to remember at Dailey Elementary!

More than 157 family members joined us for an evening dedicated to celebrating the families who make our school community so special. From dancing and laughter to creativity and connection, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

Families captured memories with on-the-spot photos thanks to FOCUS Media, enjoyed beautiful decor and a candy table provided by Kapri Kreations, danced the night away with DJ Hype, and learned new moves with Sharneese Jones of STOP Fitness. Guests also created their own terrariums, enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by QDOBA, and had the chance to win some amazing raffle prizes.

Thank you to all of our partners, families, and supporters who helped make this Parent and Child Time Activity such a wonderful celebration of community, connection, and appreciation. We loved spending the evening with you!

Our Dailey Elementary Parent Ambassadors came together for a special end-of-year celebration to recognize their dedication to building school culture, supporting one another, and prioritizing parental self-care throughout the year.

Approximately 25 parents joined us for an evening of appreciation, fellowship, and creativity. Families enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by Chef Star'lin Etherly of Cooking in the ATE10 before creating their own family portraits inspired by Disney's Up while sipping sparkling apple cider. 🎈🏡

A special thank you to Aaron Hall for designing the portrait templates and to all of our Parent Ambassadors for your commitment, engagement, and partnership this year. Your involvement helps make our school community stronger for everyone!

Thrive-On McMonagle makes beautiful music!

On May 29, 2026 Thrive-On McMonagle hosted its end-of-year violin performance!

Since September 2025, Thrive-On McMonagle scholars have been working hard to learn, and thrive, playing the violin. At the end of the year, a combination of veteran and new violin scholars took the stage to show what they have learned. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and school faculty gathered to listen to the scholars play. The applause was tremendous as the scholars played beautifully from start to finish.

What a great night at McMonagle!

Thanks to all of the great scholars and parents for being a part of the Thrive-On McMonagle experience. Here's to next year at Thrive-On McMonagle!

Aloha from Thrive-On McMonagle!

Thrive-On McMonagle celebrated the end of the school year with a Luau! Thrive On Afterschool, Mentees, and Youth Advisory Council students were treated to an evening of fun and food.

As calming Hawaiian music played in the background, students got to eat a four course BBQ dinner while sipping beverages from pineapple cups. Leis and grass skirts were handed out and a raffle was held for first pick of prizes and treats including jewelry art, sports equipment, electronics, candy, cookies, and more.

When the indoor festivities had ended, the students got to head outside to spend time in a bounce house and gaming truck. The students had a blast and deserved to after doing so well in school for the year.

What a great year and now we are all ready for some "island time." Aloha from McMonagle Elementary!

Ms. Peacock taught her 4th-6th grade Youth Advisory Council members at Eisenhower Elementary how to hand knit recently. They are making scarves, throws and bags to donate to a local retirement home as a service project. Not only are our kiddos learning a new skill, they are also learning about the satisfaction of giving to others!

Exemplary Attendance Honored at McMonagle!

Last Friday, 16 scholars who have shown exemplary attendance (3 absences or less) throughout the school year were honored with a special pancake breakfast, certificate giveaway, and prizes. Each scholar was served pancakes, sausage, yogurt, danish, and juice. It was all-you-can-eat and the scholars all ate their fill.

Next, each was awarded a special certificate and keychain with three scholars being honored with an additional prize for having perfect attendance! Using a raffle system, each scholar got their chance to choose a special prize from a prize table featuring items in art, sports, technology, games and more. To honor them even more, at the end of the celebration, scholars were given a bag of treats!

Congratulations to all of the scholars that demonstrated a great commitment to learning and McMonagle Elementary!

What does it really mean for a child to be “ready” for kindergarten?

This THRIVEcast episode from Flint Center for Educational Excellence brings together local education and community leaders to discuss the foundations of lifelong success for children and families.

Featuring Dr. Latoya Summey, Dr. Jodi Ramos, Superintendent Kevelin B. Jones II, and Dr. Ja'Nel Jamerson, the conversation highlights the importance of early childhood experiences, family support systems, accessible childcare, and community investment.
