This is not a drill.
Operation WarriorFit's Founder and Executive Director, Jonathan Milkovich, sat down with Joe De Sena, the founder of Spartan Race, on The Hard Way Podcast to talk about what we are building and why it matters.
And we are announcing something big.

This September, Operation WarriorFit is launching Operation Carolina: a 700-mile, 17-day solo run across the entire state of North Carolina to raise awareness for veteran mental health and prove that fitness is medicine. One runner. One state. One mission.

When Joe De Sena asks you to share your vision with the world, you show up ready. This conversation covers the why behind Operation WarriorFit, what it means to give veterans and first responders a finish line to chase, and the audacious goal we are chasing in 2026.

The episode is live now. Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, or Amazon.
If this mission resonates with you, share this post. Tag someone who needs to hear it. And follow along as we prove that finish lines are lifelines.

The truth nobody talks about is that service gives you something civilian life does not always replace: a reason to be hard on yourself that actually means something.

You wake up early because people depend on you. You push through pain because the mission matters. You hold yourself to a standard because anything less lets down your team.

When that goes away, a lot of people do not know what to do with the discipline they built. It turns inward. It gets heavy.

Operation WarriorFit gives that energy somewhere to go. A race to train for. A finish line to chase. A community that understands why you need it.

We are building something for the people who gave everything and just need a mission again. If that is you, follow us and reach out. If that is someone you love, share this post. And if you want to help us reach more warriors in 2026, drop a comment or send us a message. We are just getting started.

A veteran once told me that crossing his first finish line after getting out felt like proving something to himself he had forgotten was true.
That he was still capable. Still strong. Still here.

That is what a race can do. It is not therapy, but it works like it. The training gives you structure. The event gives you a goal. And the finish line gives you something you can point to and say, I did that.

Operation WarriorFit exists to remove every barrier between a veteran, service member, or first responder and that moment. No cost. No excuses. Just the chance to remember who they are.

Know someone who needs this? Send them our way. Drop a comment, share this with your unit or department group chat, or follow along as we build something that matters.

There is a moment after you leave service when you realize nobody is coming to wake you up for PT anymore.

No formation. No accountability. No one checking if you showed up.
For many veterans and first responders, that silence becomes dangerous. The structure that kept them moving disappears, and without it, the weight of everything they carried starts to settle in.

Operation WarriorFit was built for that moment. We provide free and discounted race entries because sometimes the hardest part is just having somewhere to be and something to train for. A finish line gives you a reason to get out of bed. A race gives you a mission again.

This is not about medals. It is about giving someone a reason to keep moving forward.

If you know a veteran, service member, or first responder who needs a mission again, tag them below or share this post. One share could be the thing that gets someone moving.

Big things are happening at Operation WarriorFit.

We’re excited to announce that our official website is now live.

This isn’t just a page. It’s the first step in bringing our mission to life in a bigger way.

Our goal is to help veterans, service members, and first responders find their purpose again through fitness, camaraderie, and community.

You’ll see highlights from one of our first major events in Colorado Springs, where our team competed in a Spartan Race and showed what it means to be part of something greater.

We’re just getting started, and we’re looking for others to join us. Whether you’re a monthly donor, a race partner, or someone who simply wants to help others find their next step, we’d love to connect.

Visit the new site, learn about our mission, and let us know how you want to get involved.

Friends and Family!

I wanted to take a moment to personally update everyone on the exciting progress we're making with Operation WarriorFit. Our mission to support veterans, service members, and first responders through fitness and community continues to grow and evolve.

Behind the scenes, we have teams hard at work developing a new, user-friendly website, and we're actively building partnerships with national brands to extend our reach and impact. Most importantly, we’ve already started providing sponsored race entries across the country, helping individuals reconnect and thrive through fitness events.

At this time, we're beginning to seek interested sponsors and donors for our upcoming events, outreach initiatives, and special veteran-focused programs like our "Dream Race" fund. If you or someone you know might be interested in supporting Operation WarriorFit and our veterans, please reach out to me directly at [email protected].

Stay tuned—more exciting updates and content will be coming your way soon! Your continued support and encouragement mean the world.

Together, we’re helping heroes find purpose and community, one race at a time.

We wanted to take a minute to thank DUDE Wipes for overnighting over 15,000 wipes for first responders in North and South Carolina fighting the various brush fires that have happened in the last several weeks.

We can not thank enough the dude wipes team and their response to the needs of first responders in the area. We continue to support first responders even off the race course. Thank you all for the support and protection they provide the community through the last several months of crazy events.
