🀄 Curious about tournament Mah Jong—but intimidated by the pace?

Bams4Ben is the perfect opportunity to give tournament-style play a try! Our social tournament moves at a more relaxed pace, with four games played over 80 minutes instead of the typical 60 minutes. You’ll have more time to enjoy each game, meet other players and experience tournament play without the pressure of the usual tournament speed.

Experienced tournament players are welcome, too! Come enjoy a fun day of friendly competition while supporting a great cause.

Players should know how to play American Mah Jong and be comfortable completing a game in approximately 20 minutes. Please bring your 2026 NMJL card.

🏈 And football fans, you’re in luck—it’s a bye week for both Florida and Florida State, so you won’t miss the game!

🀄️ Bams4Ben - Let’s Mahj!

I’m so excited to share Bams4Ben - Clay County’s first Mah Jong tournament! Join us for a fun day of Mah Jong while helping us continue a mission that has made a meaningful impact in our community.

The Ben Johnson Memorial Fund was created in memory of our son, Ben, and provides scholarships and awards to young people who demonstrate the qualities that made Ben so special - Character, Heart and Loyalty.

With the incredible support of our community and fundraisers like Bat4Ben and Burn4Ben, we have been able to award 18 scholarships in Ben’s memory. With Bams4Ben, we hope to continue that mission - recognizing deserving young people and helping support their education.

Now we’re combining that mission with something I love - Mah Jong!

Join us for a fun day of social tournament-style Mah Jong, lunch, exciting prizes, and friendly competition, all while raising money to support future scholarships.

Last night, we had the honor of presenting the 18th Ben Johnson Memorial Award and Scholarship. ❤️
This scholarship was created to honor the qualities that made Ben so special - character, heart, and loyalty.

This year’s baseball recipient is Caden Swartz,
selected by his teammates.

Coach Martino described Caden as a role model for the baseball program, someone who excels in the classroom with a 4.6 GPA and has worked tirelessly to become the best player and person he can be. He carries a quiet confidence, leads by example, and is committed to Brewton Parker Christian University to continue both his academic and baseball journey.

Congratulations, Caden. We know Ben would have been proud to call you his teammate.

So heartwarming to run into Will Stephens at a wedding last night. The 2021 Ben Johnson football award recipient is now a Jacksonville firefighter and studying to be an EMT. Couldn’t be more fitting for his character and his heart for helping others. So proud to see him doing exactly what he was meant to do. 💙

💙 Bat4Ben Update 💙
We want to share an update on this year’s Bat4Ben wiffleball tournament. While we won’t be able to host the tournament this year due to lower participation, our hearts are full when we think about what Bat4Ben has meant over the past eight years.
Because of this incredible community, we’ve raised over $20,000 for scholarships in Ben’s honor. The memories, the laughter, the teams, the friendly competition, and the support over the years have meant so much to us, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has played, donated, volunteered, sponsored, and helped make Bat4Ben so special.
Although the tournament is retiring, the mission continues. The Ben Johnson Memorial Foundation will keep moving forward with fundraising efforts, and we’re excited to share what’s next. Please stay tuned!
Thank you for continuing to support and celebrate Ben’s memory with us. 💙
