Food Truth Tuesday: Food insecurity is rising across Northern Arizona — and it does not look the same everywhere.
It affects children, seniors, rural families, people living in the Grand Canyon region, and working adults who are still being squeezed by rent, utilities, transportation, medical costs, and grocery prices.

1️⃣Those experiencing food insecurity across N. Arizona are primarily children, seniors, and actively working adults.
2️⃣The housing crisis in Flagstaff significantly contributes to food insecurity and hunger.
3️⃣In rural areas, high costs for food and essential resources and services, combined with increased barriers to employment, exacerbate hunger and food insecurity.
4️⃣Food insecurity in Grand Canyon National Park is a serious issue, compounded by its unique regional challenges and unique employment setup.
The truth is: when housing, utilities, gas, medical bills, and other expenses are high, food is the first thing to get left off the table.
