Dizzy Hips (aka the pied hooper, the gyronaut, The hula-hoop man, hula-hoop stuntman and tractor tire man) and has been called "The Godfather of modern Hooping" for starting the revolution known as "hooping" inadvertently by giving a band called "String Cheese incident" their first five hoops and directly by breaking free of traditional circus secrecy about sharing tricks and bring hooping to the world since about 1988. Paul “Dizzy Hips” Blair, called “the godfather of modern hooping” by The Hooping Family Tree project and “The Jackie Chan of Hula-Hoops” by CBC, Canada. Dizzy is the inventor of several tricks including “Tandem (Two-Person) Hooping, neck catches/ throws, The 3-beat weave (forward, backward and overhead), The Dizzy Switch, Dizzy Duck-out Flourish, The Square-la Hoop, several back-skid roll-overs, dozens of bounce tricks and many more. Dizzy was the first to use blind hooping in shows-1999-and the first to teach it in classes (2002). Dizzy has performed for circuses and events all over the world as well as hundreds of schools and charities. Dizzy lives with his dog Nanook in the mountains above the Grand Canyon in USA’s Southwest region. He also teaches basketry, wilderness skills, soccer, fly-fishing, swimming, and several snow sports.
