When we visit a community as unique as Grasshoek in Namibia we know one thing; we know nothing. This is where we start, by listening and learning what the people need and want to uplift communtiy.

We came to Grasshoek, Namibia with one purpose — to listen. To observe. To understand. These beautiful people deserve to be heard, recognized, and supported. That's where the work always begins.

The Grasshoek community leader didn't expect us to return. But The Great Gathering came back to Grasshoek, Namibia — this time with a cell phone for the San Bushmen leader. The look on his face captures the shock of a promise kept, and a bridge finally built to the outside world.

URGENT HELP NEEDED: Disaster struck Okahandja Namibia with severe rain and hail. Christiana, whom we have worked with for years supporting her with a small school that feeds children in an impoverished community needs our help.

She contacted us to say they were forced to leave the area and the school she has worked so hard to build (which is not much more than sheets of metal) is at risk of collapse. She fled with children to another location 10 kilometers away.

We are asking you to help Christiana and her school children for emergency food, blankets and needs to overcome this disaster.

PLEASE help Christiana and the children she cares for by making a donation today. This is an urgent call for support.

We are a 501c3 registered nonprofit.

In the blistering solar heat of Namibia, in a car with no air conditioning, we traveled in heat that required some extra protection. Covering up to protect ourselves from the sun on our way to visit the San Bushman in northern Namibia. We look for solutions and never let inconveniences slow us down.

This is much more than a photo, it is the path to clean water and health for five Maasai Villages. Imagine how it would feel to know the exact spot that you could come and receive clean drinking water for your family. Knowing you would not have to drink water out of an open pit where animals also drink from. This is the work we are doing with the Maasai in Kenya to drill them a well and this is the exact spot that we will drill.

The Great Gathering Nonprofit 501c3 Follow us as we share the drilling story with you.

For these children who live in an impoverished community in Namibia, in the area of Okahanja, these books represent the ability to begin learning how to read. This is the start of a pathway out of poverty. This is what makes these small micro donations and support critical in the lives of those who we serve. Thank you for supporting the future of these children.

Gratitude is what Kwaru felt after visiting the Maasai people. He is an artist from Kibera Kenya. (largest Urban slum in Africa) His art collective assisted our organization to visit the Maasai and document the challenges they are having with lack of access to clean water. We will be drilling a well in 2026 that will supply clean water to five Maasai villages. Kwaru, who lives in slum, came back to his home and realized that life in the slum was easier than it is for the Maasai.

The water source they have now is an open earth pit that animals also drink from. It is very contaminated.

We are grateful for support that has made it possible for us to complete this project by drilling for clean water. This has taken us years to find funding to complete and we are thrilled it will be done this year!
