Welcome to Fitchburg Youth Basketball. The Fitchburg Youth Basketball (FYB) consists of several programs offering fun, educational, and competitive basketball to grade levels from pre-K to 8th grade.
Fitchburg Youth Basketball in-town basketball programs are recreational and provide a safe, fun, and learning experience for the children. In-town programs known as P*e Wee for PreK-2nd (fall), Biddy for 3rd-8th (winter), and Small Ball for PreK-4th (spring) are divided into age groups. They are available to children from all surrounding towns and cities. Coaches are volunteers and parents whose primary goal is to teach the children the fundamentals of basketball: sportsmanship and skills training.
The Fitchburg Youth Basketball travel program (winter) is a competitive basketball program for girls and boys who live in or attend public schools in Fitchburg. This program allows the children to play competitive basketball in an organized league-style format. These teams are strictly by grade level and travel to other communities to play within the Central MA Youth Basketball League (cymbl.org). Players go through tryouts and evaluations.
We consider all our programs to be a feeder to the middle and high school teams.
Our goals are to encourage fundamental growth, improve individual and team play, exercise sportsmanship, provide opportunities for competitive play, and collaborate with middle and high school teams.
