Hey everyone, hope your winter has been a good one! We are planning on having the annual club meeting Saturday March 28th at the Pit 611 yet again! We will be picking lakes and discussing potential changes for the upcoming season. We will get started around 12:30pm. See you then!

Well that wraps up another season for the NorthStar Bass Club. We had our top 6, Angler of the Year and big bass of the years awards as well as our fish off! Upper Cormorant wasn't fishing much better than it had the first time around but again someone figured it out! Huston Wienckowski came in 2nd with 16.83 but it was Ben Gervais who took home the W and the cash! He brought it a huge bag of 19.57 and an Upper Cormorant giant that weighed 5.39!

We had our end of the year awards that include the biggest bass of the season and of course the Angler of the Year! For the third time in 4 years the AoY goes to none other than Matt Commerford! He had been on an absolute tear the last few years and that continued this year! The rest of the top 6 in order goes Ben Gervais, Thor Swanson, John Simonson, Gary Eichhorn and Huston Wienckowski. The big bass of the year goes to Mitch Swanson with his 5.46lb gorilla he caught on Little Cormorant!

Our fish-off is finally upon us! Like always we will be blasting off at the Upper Cormorant access and like last year it will be at 730. Any members that make the track from the Middle Cormorant access would be greatly appreciated! We'll present end of season awards and do some grilling after the tournament. See you all Sunday!

We had our last regular season tournament for the season on Lake Lida. Fishing conditions were less than optimal as we had a unseasonably strong cold front come through dropping temps into the upper 40s and winds that gusted over 30mph. The fish were definitely in a funk that day but Chad Johnson managed to capture 5 nice smallmouth to land himself in 2nd with 16.98. Huston Wienckowski found a large green to go with his smallies to secure big fish of 4.23 and first place with 17.43.

Members, I forgot that due to the time of year our fish off is we blasted off at 730am last year with the weight in commencing at 330pm. That will be the case again this year. I apologize for not bringing this up at our Lida tournament.
