11/10/2022 (Federal Way, Washington) The pandemic of 2020-2022 has caused professional and service oriented businesses to face realities of canceling in-person, face-to-face meetings, and permit working remotely. They had to rethink business processes - set new priorities, and develop new ways to maintain and create relationships with clients and the public at large. Businesses suffered, closed doors, or developed new ways of resiliency and survived.
Associations & Organizations have not escaped the consequences of the pandemic. Many have suffered from decreased membership rolls, a lack of participation – often resulting from the need for isolation and social distancing. Many repurpose or refine long and short term goals and survive, or dissolve.
Many are reconsidering their priorities on memberships, often wanting to know more about their associations – are they professional – responsive – open to new ideas – growing? What about your own membership in an association? Does it match up? Hint – the days of the “Star Chamber” and “decision-making luncheons for a select few” are gone. The days of the pandemic may be gone, but opportunities abound.
