We envision a community where every young person feels safe, supported, and connected—where mental health crises are met with understanding and action, and where families have the resources they need to keep their children alive, stable, and thriving.

When emotions feel overwhelming, the most helpful first step isn’t logic or problem-solving—it’s regulation.

TIPP skills are DBT-based tools that work with the body to calm the nervous system fast, creating space for safer choices and clearer thinking.

These are great skills for both kids and adults. Save this for hard moments. 🌱

No parent plans for a mental health crisis.
And yet—many families find themselves there.
When safety is at risk, short-term psychiatric hospitals and crisis centers can provide immediate stabilization, medical oversight, and time to breathe. Most stays are brief—often 72 hours to one week—with the goal of keeping kids safe and helping families figure out what comes next.
These places are not meant to be permanent.
They are meant to pause the emergency.
If your child or teen is in a life-threatening situation, seeking short-term inpatient care can be a critical first step toward stabilization and support.

This list is shared with care and intention—for families who may need it now or someday.

*If your child is in immediate danger, call 911. You can also call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7, or contact the Georgia Crisis & Access Line (GCAL) at 1-800-715-4225 for mobile crisis support.

We’re so excited to finally share this with you — Rooted Youth is here. 🌱

Rooted Youth was created from a simple but powerful belief:

When kids and families are struggling, they deserve support that feels accessible, human, and close to home — not overwhelming or out of reach.

Our mission is to help bridge the gap between families, schools, and the resources that already exist in our community… and to make finding help feel a little less heavy.

Our focus for year one is intentionally narrow and deeply practical:

We’re building a trusted Resource Guide for families and schools — a tool that school counselors and parents can turn to when a child needs support. It will include everything from emergency and short-term care options to long-term facilities, child therapists, psychiatrists, and family support services — all vetted, local, and written in real, human language.

This first year is about laying a strong foundation — creating something practical and powerful that can grow and serve families for years to come.

If you care about kids, families, mental health, and stronger community support — we’d love for you to follow along as Rooted Youth grows.

More to come soon. 💛🌿
