Fayette Humane Society We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit all volunteer organization with a mission of spay & neuter.

The National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy’s most recent survey estimates that 64% of the total number of animals that enter shelters are euthanized. The FHS is dedicated to ending the needless suffering of unwanted pets through our aggressive spay and neuter program. In an effort to do our part to alleviate this pandemic, we offer discounted certificates for spay and neuter assistanc

e to those who qualify and as funds permit. Prior to every adoption, we test, vaccinate, and spay or neuter all of our animals, or make arrangements to have them spayed or neutered, ensuring that they will not reproduce and add to this growing problem. Our ultimate goal is to find permanent loving homes for all of our rescued animals.

Meet Biscotti!

Biscotti is a 5 month-old Labrador mix from the “Yellow Litter,” and this sweet boy has already shown just how resilient he is. Some of you may remember him from earlier this month after he suffered a gunshot wound to his back left leg. After undergoing an amputation, Biscotti has recovered beautifully and is thriving as a happy, playful tripod pup!

At about 40 pounds now, Biscotti is expected to grow into a handsome 65–75 pound adult. While he still enjoys puppy playtime and loves romping around with his dog friends, he’s a little more laid-back than some of his siblings. He’s often content sitting back and observing everything going on around him before joining in on the fun.

Biscotti absolutely loves toys, soft cozy beds, and all the pets and affection he can get. He’s crate trained and settles nicely, though he is still working on house training. He also does submissive p*e at times, so he’ll need a patient family willing to continue building his confidence as he grows.

His calm, easygoing nature makes us think he would do wonderfully with kids and likely with cats as well. Despite everything he’s been through, Biscotti remains incredibly loving, gentle, and sweet-natured. He would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for an affectionate pup with a resilient spirit and a heart of gold.

Meet Cyrus!

Cyrus is a striking brown pup with bold black accents and an even bigger personality to match. At 13-14 weeks old, this handsome boy is expected to grow into a 55–65 pound adventure buddy who’s equal parts fun, smart, and loving.

Cyrus is an active, playful puppy who would thrive with someone looking for a loyal companion to explore the world with. Whether he’s zooming around the yard, playing with toys, or heading out on an adventure, he’s always eager to be part of the action. After playtime, he’s just as happy to relax with a favorite chew bone or curl up nearby with his stuffed toys.

He has been raised around older dogs, cats, and children and does wonderfully with everyone he meets. Cyrus is a confident, intelligent, and independent pup with an excellent temperament and a very trainable nature. He already knows simple commands like “sit,” “come,” and “out” (staying out of the garden beds), and he’s continuing to learn quickly in his foster home. He’s also non-reactive on leash and has very gentle manners for a puppy.

His Embark DNA results came back as:
30% German Shepherd, 21% Pitbull, 13% Golden Retriever, 13% Chow Chow, with the remaining mix including Akita, Labrador Retriever, Siberian Husky, and Boxer.

Meet Andy! 🐶❤️

Andy is a 4½-month-old Corgi/Chihuahua/Dachshund/Bully breed mix with the cutest ears! (Both ears stand up now) This handsome little guy is already winning hearts everywhere he goes!

Andy is incredibly loving and affectionate. He’ll happily run right up to new people, flop onto his back, and ask for belly rubs immediately. He’s the kind of puppy who wants to be everyone’s best friend and is always ready for cuddles and attention.

He absolutely loves other small dogs and enjoys being part of the fun. Andy is very food motivated, which should make continued training extra rewarding. Like many puppies, he can be a little nervous in brand-new situations at first, but his friendly nature helps him settle in quickly.

Andy has not yet been around large dogs or young children, so slow introductions would be best. His mom weighs 17 pounds, but Andy and his brothers are already growing into sturdy boys, and we expect him to reach around 25 pounds full grown.

Meet Asher!

Asher is an approximately 1 year old (still very puppy like) parti color Standard Poodle. Weighing in at 45 pounds, he’s working on bulking up a bit!

Asher is very friendly and affectionate in his foster home. He’s learning not to jump up and give you hugs out of his puppy excitement! He’s housetrained and learning not to lift his leg in inappropriate places and has only done it once! Asher loves to chew, so he only gets chew safe toys, no stuffies. He’s a happy fella and gets along well with other dogs his size with his energy level and playful style. Because he’s still a puppy, he’s been enjoying eating from slow feed bowls and puzzle toys. He loves chewing on Benebones and bully sticks and collagen beef cheek rolls.

Asher enjoys being outside with his foster mom and so we are requiring a fenced in yard for him to run and play with you. Because of his puppyness, no small dogs. A dog his size who has plenty of energy for play would be great. If he were your only only dog, keep in mind that he would need plenty of enrichment and activity, including a daily walk.

Asher is not a sit on the couch and chill out kind of guy. He settles down great in his crate. He would do well with a family who would enjoy dog sports like agility or nosework, he seems to have the drive for that. Asher, like most Poodles, has a tender heart, so he responds well to positive reinforcement training. He knows sit and shake and clearly would like to learn more stuff! No children under the age of ten as he is still learning not to give everyone the poodle hug!

Being a Standard Poodle, Asher will require professional grooming every 6-7 weeks. The cost can on average $100, so his new family would need to be prepared for that. He is learning leash manners and we ask that his new family continue walks for him. Asher is crate trained and settles very well and sleeps all night in a crate. He uses it like his condo, eats his meals in there and feels comfortable being crated. We would like his adoptive family to continue that habit as he’s still a puppy at about 1 year old.

Adopters must live in the Atlanta area as a home visit will be done for Asher.

Cricket needs a new foster or an adopter! Her foster momma is about to have surgery!

She is the total package wrapped in fur and wagging tail! This sweet girl is as friendly as they come and has never met a stranger. Cricket gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, kids, and every human lucky enough to meet her. She loves to play, explore, and have fun, but when the excitement is over, she’s happy to curl up for a cozy nap right by your side. She loves going out on adventures in town with her foster family and loves meeting new dogs and people!

Cricket has the perfect balance of playful energy and calm companionship. She is housetrained and crate trained. She is 6 months old and weighs about 35 pounds.

Meet Max!

Max is a gentle, sensitive pup with a heart full of love—he just needs a little time to show it. Max didn’t have much exposure to new people early in life, so new situations can feel overwhelming for him at first. But once he feels safe and comfortable, his affectionate, loyal personality really begins to shine. At 5 moonths old, this 3/4 German Shepherd and 1/4 Labrador mix is expected to grow into a beautiful medium-to-large dog, likely around 55–65 pounds full grown.

Max does wonderfully with kids and enjoys having a calm, predictable environment where he can relax and be himself. He loves spending time outdoors and would be happiest in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can explore, play, and build confidence at his own pace.

He’s already off to a great start with his training—Max is crate trained, sleeps through the night, and is almost fully house trained. He’s also very food motivated, which will be a huge asset as he continues learning new skills. He’ll need some patience and guidance when it comes to leash walking, as well as continued positive exposure to new people and experiences to help him grow into a more confident dog.

Max hasn’t been around cats, so slow, careful introductions would be important if there are feline friends in the home.

Because of his shy nature, Max is looking for an experienced dog owner who understands the importance of socialization and is committed to helping him feel safe and secure in the world. With time, patience, and love, Max will blossom into a deeply devoted companion.

Meet Sagan!

Sagan is a 13 week old mix who is expected to grow to around 55–65 pounds. His Embark DNA testing came back as: 30% German Shepherd, 21% Pitbull, 13% Golden Retriever, 13% Chow Chow, and the other 33% is a mix of Akita, Labrador, Siberian Husky, and Boxer.

This beautiful brown pup with lovely markings is playful, curious, and incredibly affectionate. Sagan loves spending time with his littermates, exploring his surroundings, and seeking out attention from people.

He enjoys chew bones, stuffed toys, and plenty of playtime, and he gets along great with older dogs, cats, and children. Sagan is a well-rounded, loving pup who will make a wonderful addition to almost any home.

Ziggy is a 6 month-old lovable pup with a personality just as charming as her adorable looks! Her momma was a Treeing Walker Coonhound mama and her dad was a Labrador mix.

This sweet girl is playful, curious, and always ready for her next adventure. She loves to run, explore, and be right in the middle of whatever you’re doing—Ziggy is definitely an “in your pocket” kind of companion who enjoys being close to her people and staying involved in daily life.

Ziggy does great with other dogs and is wonderful with kids. She has also been around chickens and livestock and has done well, making her a great candidate for a variety of home environments. She has not yet been introduced to cats, so slow and proper introductions would be important if her future home includes feline friends.

Currently weighing about 40 pounds, Ziggy is expected to grow into a 50–60 pound adult. She would thrive in an active home that can keep up with her playful spirit while continuing her training and socialization.
