A Blessing Bag, Inc. - For Foster Care Children A Blessing Bag is a charity dedicated to giving back packs to children who are placed in foster care. We provide hygiene kits, clothing & much more.

Over 400,000 children in the United States are in the foster care system. Not everyone can become a foster care parent or adoptive parent, but there are many ways you can help. A Blessing Bag was founded to help foster care children who are displaced from their homes and placed with a foster parent. Some of these children are in a unfamiliar environment with no belongings. We want to make sure eac

h and every child is sent to their foster home with A Blessing Bag. A Blessing Bag contains basic hygiene items, clothing and a stuffed animal for comfort. Any foster parent can request a blessing bag. Please contact us for more information.

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT! WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We have a special opportunity for you to help recognize some of our very best foster parents in a really meaningful way.

Our annual Foster Parents of the Year Banquet will be held on Friday, July 12 at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock. This is a beautiful evening dinner reception honoring foster parents of the year from each of our ten service areas as well as an overall statewide winner.

But we need you to nominate foster parents who embody what fostering in Arkansas is all about.

All foster parents currently fostering are open to being nominated – foster family homes, private license placement agency homes, therapeutic foster care homes, relative foster homes, etc.

The nomination period starts today, and all nominations must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17.

Foster Parents and Support:

The Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter is offering a trauma-informed training to foster families on Tuesday, November 13th in Fayetteville.

This training session is open to all those interested at No Cost! The November 13th session, from 6:00pm-8:00pm, will focus on “The Impact of Early Trauma on Everyday Challenges”. Let’s all dive deeper into the impacts that model and shape these wonderful gems that we care for and love.

Thank you again to everyone that has already inquired about the needs for the Blessing Bags and also to those that have already donated to our cause. Here is a complete list, with the age groups identified, of items that we could use at this time to complete the Blessing Bags. Also, as you will see in the list, the items identified in red are of an immediate need. However, any of these items would be appreciated and as we get them in we will continue to build the bags for the children. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. We value your time and generosity in helping us reach our goal in turning bags of trash into gold for these awesome children!
