Children need time to work toward their goals, but they also need time to rest, breathe, and recharge. Healthy sleep, quiet moments, play, and family time are not wasted time—they help young minds manage stress, stay focused, and return to challenges with renewed energy.

Families, let’s teach our children that taking care of themselves is part of becoming strong and responsible. Young people, it is okay to pause when you feel overwhelmed. Rest does not mean you have given up; it means you are preparing yourself to keep going with a clearer mind and a hopeful heart.

Trust is built in everyday moments—showing up when we say we will, keeping our promises, telling the truth, and admitting when we fall short. These simple choices help children feel secure and teach them that strong relationships are built through consistency.

Parents, caregivers, teachers, and mentors, let’s model the dependability we want our young people to develop. Young people, your word matters. Every time you follow through, accept responsibility, or make things right, you strengthen your character and earn the trust of others. Together, we can build families and communities where people know they can count on one another.

🌟 U&I’S POSITIVE MESSAGE OF THE DAY 🌟

Children grow stronger when they are trusted to think, try, and work through age-appropriate challenges. Solving every problem for them may feel helpful, but patient guidance teaches them how to make decisions, learn from mistakes, and believe in their own abilities.

Parents, teachers, and mentors, when a young person faces a challenge, ask, “What do you think your first step should be?” Offer support without taking away the opportunity to grow. Young people, do not be afraid to think for yourselves, ask questions, and try again. Every problem you learn to solve today helps prepare you for tomorrow.

🚨🎃 COMMUNITY ALERT — CALLING ALL CARS! 🎃🚨

U&I Youth Development Program, together with our Community Collaborators, invites Fayetteville to our Annual Trunk-or-Treat & Family Unity Day!

📅 Saturday, October 31, 2026
⏰ 5:00–8:00 p.m.
📍 500 Fisher Street, Fayetteville
Across from Walker-Spivey

We are calling on car clubs, families, organizations and individuals to register their vehicles, decorate their trunks and help us create a safe, exciting evening for our children!

🏆 Prize for Best Decorated Trunk
🏆 Prize for Best-Dressed Costume Family
🎶 Music and family entertainment
🏰 Bounce houses
🌭 Free hot dog and drink for children while supplies last
🛍️ Vendors will be present
🍬 Plenty of candy and community fun!

🚗 Cars and decorated trunks are needed.
🛍️ Vendors must register.
🤝 Sponsors and volunteers are needed.
🍬 Candy donations are being accepted now.

🌟 U&I’S POSITIVE MESSAGE OF THE DAY 🌟

The words children hear often can become the words they carry within themselves. A sincere “I believe in you,” “You can learn from this,” or “We will work through it together” can give a young person strength long after the conversation ends.

Parents, teachers, mentors, and community members, let’s speak with purpose. Encourage effort, correct with care, and remind every child that a difficult moment does not erase their potential. When our words build courage and hope, young people learn to face challenges with confidence instead of fear.
