Today, Pea Ridge Police Department suffered the loss of Officer Kevin Apple ( #1212). While Shared Families knows the significant loss this is, we also acknowledge the growing loss and suffering to officers within the Northwest Arkansas. In response, along with other area therapists and counselors, we are beginning a fund to help support officers in receiving quality mental health services. This fund will go directly to current Pea Ridge First Responders to allow them an opportunity to receive counseling when there are financial limitations. Also, counselors who are willing to provide pro Bono services, please contact us as we will also provide these names to Police Chiefs within NWA. Trauma causes significant and at times irreparable damage and for the service they give out community, it’s our turn to encourage and help support their emotional needs as well. So from our Shared Family to our brothers and sisters in blue- we see you and will be forever enter ally grateful for your sacrifices.

It’s going to be a BIG day for HEROES!!! Just to recap a bit.

Please consider a donation. HEROES of NWA is the first and only local non profit committed to first responders and their families where Mental Health and resources are 100% our mission to help provide and assist with. What started out as pilot program with the Bentonville Police Department has since grown from Benton County to Washington county. Currently HEROES is the PROUD provider for Central EMS’s Employment Assistance Program. Currently HEROES has partnered with the Bentonville police Department, Fayettville Fire Department, and Rogers Fire Department to provide therapy and su***de prevention training.

Now that the community is beginning to open back up it will be a matter of time when most insurances providing 100% coverage for mental health will end. With your help our first responders and families can continue seeking mental health assistance and not worry about a financial barrier to do so.
